I knew this game existed. I was telling people about a 2006 MLB game that came out just before The Show debut. Wow that one was locked deep in the memory bank. This game rocked.

I remember not thinking there was no show from after 2002...I’ve always felt like don’t made the better sports games with until 05 ... game day stopped,and I believe so did shootout

This was the last MLB game made by 989 Sports. After that, San Diego Studios bought 989 and rebranded the game as "The Show." Even though it was titled MLB 2006, it was actually released prior to the 2005 season, as with the other 989 MLB titles.

This was the last title back when 989 Sports released an MLB title for the next calendar year. This game was released in Spring of 2005, the next year MLB 06: The Show was released in Spring of 2006.

This was a great game considering all star baseball and mvp baseball were discontinued after 2005. So in 2006 this was the only baseball game.

Was EA's fault, they started the whole buying up licensing rights B.S. They did this with Madden in 06 so they got a taste of their own medicine. In reality, we the consumers lose out on a great baseball game (MVP Baseball) and a great football game (NFL 2K)

There’s one song on this game that’s been stuck in my head but idk what it’s called. I guess it’s not on Spotify but if anyone can PLEASE help me out I would appreciate it. Song goes like “get your team out on the field cuz it’s time to play ball…” something something “victory is automatic when I get in the zone hit first and there ain’t no stopping me from getting home.” Can’t get it out of my head and it’s very frustrating lmao
