Orioles fan here. Jays just swept a very good team. You guys are hanging around, within striking distance if the O’s and/or Rays slip up down the stretch. This division is bananas. Great series win

@@brianmug2587 - yeah you could. It depends though. If the Rays/O’s split, it may not help you as much. You need to have a good week yourselves, then hope either the rays or O’s takes 3 of 4 or sweeps, to gain decent ground vs the losing team of that series. We’ll see. We’re entering the time of year where things get very interesting…and stressful!

Jansen with runners on in the 8th and 9th innings is absolutely clutch. This guy literally won the game vs Detroit on Sunday and this Sunday he comes in clutch again. Unreal. Keep it up jano !!!

Jansen, hopefully, will be the everyday catcher moving forward the rest of the season. He has as many RBIs as Chapman in 33 fewer games played, 1 fewer than Springer in 32 fewer games played, and 2 fewer than Merrifield in 27 fewer games played. Jansen has been insanely clutch in big situations as of late, and if he can stay healthy, he may make a huge difference for the Blue Jays for the rest of the season.

There are pitchers who prefer to throw to certain guys. However, manoah - Kirk has become meaningless with manoah’s struggles. Other than this though, it’s jano behind the plate every day while he’s hitting

@noahcove2241 For sure. And Jansen will need a breather every so often, especially going from a night/day situation. If the situation is favorable, though, at least have him be the DH. Seems like Kirk has been catching for Gausman lately. I know Jansen caught for Manoah when Alek first came back. It'll be interesting to see what happens moving forward.

4.2IP, 2H, 2R (1ER), 3BB, 4K, 2HBP Kikuchi had trouble controlling his pitches today, but he still tried to make a game out of it, but it was not enough. He was helped by the Blue Jays' batting lineup, but he needs to be more consistent.😢

In his last 32 at bats Varsho has 3 hits..well that was before this game. Great defence but that just does not cut it at a major league level.

How big was that bases clearing double by Jansen in the Bottom of the 8th inning to pad the Jays lead... With the Blue Jays leading 7-2 in the Bottom of the 9th inning, you had to know the win was still in serious question with Mitch White coming out to pitch, but the Blue Jays hang on & Sweep Arizona & continue to have great success this season against inter league teams with the Padres coming up next...

Kikuchi and White expendable. I love Kirk as a catcher but he doesn’t have much else to offer these days. Jansen and Espinal awesome and extremely underrated…

I think Kikuchi's starting to show some fatigue. He's having more of those "one bad inning" games and leaving early. Dunno if Ryu can get back to his 2020 form, but we could use that. And if he can't... can we get Stro back? Gurriel was playing LF like he never left. Interesting how we had a couple of rookies in the bullpen in 2015. The one that got demoted is still in MLB and the other one is persona non grata in MLB.

The only thing I see going wrong with the Jays is the continued idiocy of Schneider. He does ok in some instances where the moves are obvious. He lacks where a deft touch is needed. He was ok in removing Kikuchi. He lifted him when he seemed destined to revert to his form from the first couple innings. He failed with not pinch hitting for Kirk when Arizona brought in a RHP. Then he pinch hits for Espinal who is 2 for 3?

The AL East is just on another level. Despite being a very uncharacteristic 7-20 vs the AL east the Jay's are still 12 games over 500 and the rest of the East has similar degree of domination .

Terrific sweep to make it 4 wins in a row!! First place is definitely still a possibility, we’re now only 6 games out with 68 games left to play, many of which are against teams under .500. Keep it going against SD this week, Blue Jays, you got this!! White needs to be sent down or DFA’d, though, he nearly blew this one🤦‍♂️

I'm glad they've switched up the batting approach for the Jays. They aren't trying to hit dingers out of the park, it's all about making good contact and scoring runs. First half of the season they left a league high number of runners on base, and they were batting .185 with RISP just before the All Star break. Focusing on small ball and playing great defense should help them gain some ground behind the Os in the division. I'd like to see some of their better base runners steal more bases to force the opposing fielders to move in and cover the in-field. It'll make it a little easier to slap some pitches out to the grass to advance the runners and maybe score more runs that way. Great to see Piña back in TO for the series, too. He certainly made some noise in his time out on the diamond, and his fielding is still pretty spectacular. One a Jay, always a Jay!

Can we all admire just how clutch Danny been all year! 👏👏👏 He's now tied with Chapman in RBI's while hitting bottom 3rd all year and getting 40% less AB's!! I'm willing to bet that he has a better % with runners in scoring position than Guerrero.

We hear about batters hit by pitch, but we don't get to see it. We see hitters standing on base and we hear the announcers talking about their hit, but we don't get to see it. What is the purpose of these highlights ? Sooooo frustrating.

Jays are playing awesome 12 games over 500 and they won the game with one of the worst games Kikuki has pitched in awhile (he will work on his game and come out better next start I bet) I still think the Jays are going to make a move or 2 at the deadline for another strong SP (I don't trust Manoah anymore stick him in the BP and Ryu is in his last year of his contract and also a major injury so I don't trust him either) I do hope they extend Springer though he is awesome and a really good hitter and defender in the field They're a lot of rumours of trades the Jays might make at the deadline too (could be interesting)

@@MickLoud999 I agree I think this all went down as they wanted to get rid of the home run jacket . They thought if the players were enjoying themselves then they are not doing their best. They also broke up the mostly latino line up and brought in a bunch of older guys from the US mid west.
