For those who don't know: The act of drawing a line on the ground and asking the girl to cross it symbolizes a gesture of accepting the love and commitment being offered. Sometimes the young lady would be scared to say the exact words "Nami Ngiyakuthanda - I love you too" So the guy would draw the line on the ground and if she crosses, she is finally accepting the guy. Mind you this is after years and years of courtship - Hence the happiness. That's how it was done and still done Emakhaya......
