I might've know that the whole dream thing was a prank but i never expected it to be by Luna and Discord, I mean on the one hoof it's nice to see those two getting along but on the other hoof pulling such pranks in the dream realm is something you would think would be beneath Luna.

So this whole alternate version of how Twilight Sparkle became an Alicorn ended up being a dream which Princess Luna is helping Discord with. Why do you think Princess Luna agree to help Discord with playing practical jokes in their dreams?

Because it's fun and easily dismissible as "just a dream" and, so long as it's not too often, has no impact or consequences in the real world. I was wondering myself why Luna didn't step in to stop this dream since it wasn't exactly relaxing, then it showed why. Then while writing this I realized that the dream DID end just after it turned, giving Luna a pass anyways. So yeah. Very sneaky of these two here. A really good plan that only makes sense in hindsight.
