There was a lot of care and effort put into This Day Aria. In the parts where Queen Chrysalis is impersonating Princess Cadance, the music is composed as a Deceptive Cadence (or where the penultimate chord is followed by the submediant, which is deceptive because it subverts the expected followup of the penultimate into the root). In the parts where the actual Cadance is singing, however, it is written as an Authentic Cadence (or where the penultimate is followed by the root).
