Usually these bigger games, like el trafico too have their broadcast rights sold to espn or fs1 or nbc or some other company, and they have exclusive right to the highlights for the first day after the game

For nationally broadcast games (like FS1) MLS contractually has to delay 24 hours.

it's because of MLS's contracts with the TV Channels that they have to wait ~24 hours before posting the highlights

as a seattle fan i can say that portland played better, there's no point in arguing - every game in the rivalry is great to watch and it's never easy to guess who will win.

Honestly I know it wasn't but it really felt that way. The ref called a lot of bullshit flops but at the end of the day portland just played better and in rivarly games there's no telling who's gonna win. I wasn't upset at the score or portland the only thing i was pissed about was the ref. We should've had a pk there at the start of the second half and ragen's challenge didn't even touch the dude.

They didn't complain when the refs helped them win the Champions league 🤷‍♂️

@@MagicGame_ It’s MLS; 3 PKs is 1 goal at most. Plus, every fan thinks they know a PK call. One of them wasn’t a PK, and the other was a 50/50. The ref gets paid money for a reason. VAR exists for a reason. You complaining about a soft fall isn’t one of the reasons.

Yeah, funny the clear missed pen isn’t in these “highlights.” I have no issues with the red card and pen for Portland, but there clearly should have been one for Seattle. Pretty egregious miss by the refs.

@@g8briel there were no clear and obvious angles that showed it was 100% a penalty. Lodeiro has a blatant history of going down very easily so i'm not surprised Penso didn't call it on the field.

@@beefow7541 so he wouldn't have wanted to stay on his feet to put a cross in the six yard box? I acknowledge that Lodeiro has flopped before, but there was very clear contact and absolutely no touch on the ball. I've seen penalties given for much less. The rest of the match was officiated well imo, but if the handball was clear enough to give (which I think it was) the tackle was also clear enough to give.

@@kaihartmann924 It's just one of those situations where if it gets called, it won't get overturned, and vice versa. MLS refereeing is very inconsistent, but I don't think this game was anything out of the ordinary. One missed penalty call doesn't change the outcome of the game. The Timbers showed up to win.
