Wow. So informative. You sir are very knowledgeable and I really appreciate the info. I have a williard proof/proof, a 6306, an SKX, and really really want the SD MM600 now. I hope that that will complete my dive collection but there are always Tunas that need to be owned :) thank you again for a great video.

Excellent video as usual. I am really attracted to the Tuna cans regardless of the movement. Thumbs up. 👍

Great comparison. If I had to choose. I would choose the sbdb001. Looks so unique!

Great review Blake. I have a Seiko Divers 200, model SUN065. This may seem like a dumb question but swimming with it in salty ocean water, will it damage the watch? I assume I would need to douse it in non salt water after?

Hi Josh, I don't think you need to worry about swimming in salt water as long as you wash off your watch afterwards. Stainless steel is perfectly fine for salt water, but the safest approach is to rinse it after use.

Is the SBDB001 a Grand Seiko in all but name?

Perhaps it is very close. I think I can see the difference in finishing between the MM600 and the GS600, but the MM600 is definitely a very high quality and high value diver. I suppose the difference is a little in the GS hand-finishing, and the fact that the GS has applied indexes and hand-brushed hands, whereas the MM600 has a stamped dial/indexes and bead-blasted hands. And, the GS bracelet is in a different league than the MM600, but substantively they are very comparable.

@@vote4blake Yes the dial lacks the GS bling factor but otherwise there is something about this watch that says quality. Seiko seem to have thought that right, this is our first SD Diver and it’s going to be special. I think they succeeded. Keep the reviews coming!
