How can someone think the middle part doesn’t suit the piece because it is in major? 😧 I think it is what makes this piece even more unique and beautiful. To me it always symbolized the deceased being set free from all the suffering they experienced on earth.

that's right! What I love about Chopin is that all of his pieces are accompanied by pure sadness and then suddenly there are those sparks of happiness and relief. Remember: Sadness can't exist without happiness and beauty can't exist without the nasty. Just look at ballade no. 4 for example. For me personally it is the saddest, most depressing piece there is. On the other hand it is also the most beautiful and stunning pieces he ever wrote. :) Have a nice day!

After listening to your recital on August 8, 2021, listening to a funeral march enriched with the most ideal expression of exultation and hope ever captured through art, is the culmination of intangible power that continues our soul beyond time and space. I am speechless, Mo Niemczuk, by the impulsion and boost that you give us in such a generous way.

I always wondered where this came from. I loved it. It is in an old music book my Mom had and it's called Funeral March by Chopin and it's in f major.

I noticed another similarity between the Beethoven funeral march (3:22) and the Chopin (27:45): both movements have a trill in the left hand imitating a funeral drum.

I love your channel so much. Thanks for such explanations about the music of Chopin. ❤ You help us a lot of to analysis and understand what we are playing. Regarding the middle part, I want to say that it brings back memories for me. It's like remembering the memories about the person you lost. so i think middle part suits very well in this 3rd part of sonata.

I would just like to note that in my two editions of this march the first part (A) presents itself with the same dynamics and is also the same as the video, while when (A) returns the second time, in one edition it is identical to the first time but in the second edition after the initial (p) there is indeed a crescendo but not as long as in the video: perhaps there are different originals to which the various editions refer: in this case I assume that the performer can choose the version that suits him/her more congenial. Thanks for your attention. 🎼🌻🎶

@@gregniemczuk Why thank me, Greg; I was rather hoping for a dissent or assent in relation to my consideration; your opinions on music are certainly much more well-founded than mine. As for the appreciation for the splendid work you have done and continue to do with these videos, this time it remained in my head and in my heart, perhaps thinking that, simply by commenting, it was somehow implicit. 🌻
