This video is wonderful. I appreciate you bringing it to us & showing us how you practice and perfect such a difficult piece. The few mistakes do not take anything away, to me, they enrich the detail of what you are playing and make your performance even more meaningful. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for all your efforts in making this video!!!! It's truly amazing and commendable... I have been learning piano for a year now and picked this piece up... Ofcourse I am aware it is too early for me, however if I keep practicing everyday I'm sure I'll play it with perfection someday! It will be worth the time given to this etude, it's just beyond explaining :")

I play guitar too, and have the 2-handed multi-string tap shredding technique down, I found that beginning (the *real* beginning) part pretty easy to learn, I think there are similarities. Like, 10 min. vs. the weeks to months to stop being terrible at anything from double thirds (I'm probably learning songs in the wrong order...). I am loving this song though it is SO much fun to play. Appreciate the lectures

Heh I uploaded a short to my channel of the arpeggio part on the right hand w/ the metronome going at the tempo called out (at least on the sheet music i have, it says "original" next to the tempo...) wish I'd have done audio in my DAW rather than the phone microphone 🤦‍♂️ of course that makes it easy to select midi events and apply quantization haha ... def. Nowhere near as even as some performances at that tempo I've seen on KZfaq 😔

I found that learning the pattern in bars 9-12 for example is easier when practiced like bars 48-55 in the first ballade. Just thought I’d mention it in case it helps someone.

I've played Chopin's P.C. #1 (op. 11) first movement - and got to the place where it sounded pretty good [even all the way through the development; which, for the record, ALSO leaves the arms aching: you must manage the power supply as well as hit all the right notes & phrasing] - and yet I had to give up on this piece! P.S. As regards the title, perhaps more appropriate would be "Winter Tornado"! :P

You are in possession of the Cortot edition where he gives preparatory exercises with rhythms? One should not become tense and musciling ones way through this is counterproductive. Why must it be played in public or become a goal is immaterial. Just enjoy the piano and what Chopin gave us to discover.

Yes I know that. I simply did not have enough time to practice it as long as it should be as I had a deadline in the Polish Ministry of Culture for this project. But that's not a tutorial videos but analysis so I decided to leave it like this just for music lovers. I hope you understand 🙂 greetings from Poland!

No. This video is not intended to judge my playing because it's not a performance. I had little time to prepare it but I had to do it because of the project and deadline. You don't know the whole story, everything was happening during lockdown. In this video the analysis and words are more important than just playing. This year I'll make a studio recording of all the etudes and they will be perfect. I'm sorry if you didn't know. But - never judge anyone without knowing the whole story and background
