This video was live streamed using the SlingStudio wireless broadcasting system. The primary front facing camera is a Fujifilm X-E3 with the Fuji X-E3 as the overhead camera, and the Fuji X-T20 as close-up camera, and using the iPad Pro (2018) for switching using the SlingStudio Console app. The audio is coming from the Rode Wireless Go microphone connected directly into the SlingStudio hub.

I thought of myself as a person who couldn't draw anything. But, your tutorials have been very helpful. My drawing make me proud. Haha. Thanks for this FREE course. Really made me have fun with drawings.

Hi Michael. Thank you for this portrait tutorial. My eyes are so far apart in my drawing and everything seems sooo spread out. Are there any rules of thumb about eye size to make them look proportional in the face?

Hi Michael, thank you for answering my question! I honestly thought my dollar store "No. 2 / HB" pencil was in fact a 2B pencil before you explained it. I think I am also interested if the quality of pencil mark/line in my Staedler HB pencil is different/better than my dollar store HB pencil. Will the wax/binder in my dollar store pencil make my overall drawing look any different? BTW your comment about the thickness and uniformity of computer-generated lines from the warm up drawing was really interesting!

Peter Lee: the difference between a cheap HB pencil and higher grade “artist’s” HB pencil is virtually imperceptible. I probably wouldn’t be able to tell the difference myself. HB pencils are the most common pencils because they are the most useful, all-purpose pencils around. I find 2B pencils are just slightly darker that I can apply the same amount of pressure I do with an HB and yet get a darker line, so it’s easier on my fingers and wrist and takes less effort.
