I found an easy way to tint the transparencies on a scale model. in this video I am going to show you how.
Tinting windows is a difficult task on scale models. On cars especially it brings a lot in terms pf realism when done properly. So that's why I think this is a very important "discovery".

I was about to give up trying to find a solution for a realistic tint as every tutorial I saw was just for smoke tint. Stumbled across this video a few weeks ago and ordered the Sakura pens. I finally got around to trying it yesterday and the results are absolutely amazing. Thank you!!

I've done the same thing with thinning enamel paint. Then spraying it on with my Airbrush. But it is really tricky. And there is no correcting mistakes. This looks way easier.

Yeah, I've done the same with laquer s and then polishing but as you pointed out its tricky at best

Those thin pens may also be used to outline canopies, add shadow detail to small wires and the sort. In America you can get those markers in different sizes at Michaels and other art stores.

There is quite some surface tension on the clear plastic with mine. Probably different formula.

@@MMScaleModels I also use those pens on things like wheels where the whell meets the tires....but yea, you have to draw a bit and smear it with your finger to get it feathered. If you wait too long it's not going to smear.

If you’re doing a hud,, the holographic film they use in nail salons is perfect! David demonstrates it in this video at the 19 minute 30 seconds mark…. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/hMpopbN_xJ_aXZ8.html it’s readily available from a certain online auction site, and is very cheap too 👍
