Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture. With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

You need to seal the concrete. I used to work on a warehouse and the dust was terrible. I used to put a cheap concrete sealer in the floor about every 6 months did help. The company found a place that will come in and prep the floor then put sealer on it. I left 4 years after that and never had any more problems. Check for concrete finishers in your area they may be able to help

The book bindery I worked at for 10 years had this type of machine to clean the floors. When I first started working there, they had a guy with a large push broom to clean the floors; which put a lot of dust in the air. But once the company invested in this type of machine, the work place became much less dusty. You will appreciate how much less dust will float back onto everything in your shop.

Those valves have an intake screen that cannot be cleaned well. The dust gets mixed up with water and tends to freeze them up. It's a 60 to 100 dollar part, it's best to just change them out.

When cleaning the floors with the scrubber, I like to scrub and let it soak in, don't vacuum it up, let it soak for like 15 and then go back and scrub and vacuum it up, or scrub it a few times waiting between each time, clean up the tougher stains much better.

Zach, the front end of that scrubber has wings on it that are folded in. They need to be unfolded. You are not scrubbing an area as wide as the squeegee / vacuum, therefore you are scaping up dry dirt on the tips of the squeegee as seen in the video. Plus, it is going to take you longer as you are not scrubbing as wide an area as you can. Thanks for all the cool videos. Jeff

Those are sink holes and need to be addressed sooner than later… or sure what you have for everyday weight going over those pipes. But that can really lead to bad day. This comes from a guy who work for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation. And by just looking at the placement of the holes. If left alone you could lose a truck or tractor. And content or not that’s not a good day. Safety wise that’s is. Keep it up Zach and everyone on the farm love the content

Thanks for another great video Zach and Dad and Becky for editing. It was interesting and informative and enjoyable. Like your floor scrubbing machine. Surprised you did not get a rider but the machine you got does the same job just walk behind. Looks like a great machine and the floor you did in the shop cleaned up really nice. Glad you got that. Keep your shop cleaner and reduce the dust. Rain and more rain. Same here in central Iowa. Sooner or later it will dry up and you can get the planter going again. Hang in there. Will be interesting to see what your dad’s idea is for the baskets on the tillage machine. Anxious to see his idea. He is good at stuff like that. Ok dad, front and center to show us your idea. You tuned up the planter so that’s a good job done. Rain days give you time for that. Have not seen Jim lately. Assume he is ok???? Good job on the drive way. Another rain day job done. I know this is not farming but you said you got a double decker car hauler. How about showing it to us-please!!!!!!! Glad to see Anna and didge out and about again. They seem to being playful and running around again. Glad both dogs are better. Thanks for everything Zach. Rain days are good for getting odd jobs done. Take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. I’m a dirt guy and I had the same issue in my shop and one thing that helped is putting down crushed asphalt in front of the shop so the tires and tracks kinda of clean out. Put it down, water (maybe a little red dye fuel) and compact it. It’ll help with cleaning your tires and tracks out tracking less crap in on the floor, therefor slowing down the dust in the shop.
