Farah has won so many races. He doesn't set a lot of records for time but he knows how to win. Charlotte Purdue does not even look like a distance runner. Her legs are a bit thicker than those of many others and she's short. She must train as well as anyone in the world to run so well.

I like seeing him mess with his competition when running alongside Daniel Wanjiru at the end. @4:25, you can visibly see the tension building between the two. When Farah looks to his right at Wanjiru and then accelerates hard, this really reveals his competitive colors in ways we almost never see from him. Farah is not the "type" to showboat. A Mobot is usually all we see from him, which is really kind of an ode to his British fans the way I see it. Seeing him get a little arrogant in his style is really cool here, because it reminds me that he is a human. There is no obligation, for him as an incredible champion who has done WAY more than just win a few medals, to abstain from ever showboating. This is really nothing compared to a lot of the antics that have taken place in elite running over the years.

@mauriciolazaro22126 жыл бұрын

@cecilevans92476 жыл бұрын
I have to criticize Farah a bit. You wanted a challenge and you decided to stay in London for a small half and then jog beside the leaders until 100m to go? How is that a challenge? You ran a 61:30 roughly. That's slower than what the winning time will likely be in London, as I imagine there will likely be a new WR from Kipchoge. Farah should have went to the NYC half and gotten more of a challenge. Or hell, went to Rome and raced Rupp. At least he ran a fast time, AND has a finish. London will have titans of the sport. The greatest runners in history. You cannot play around with them. But I digress. Perhaps it was the perfect stimulus for Farah. We are just weeks away from London.

61:40 is an okay time during marathon prep, okay. BUT....they likely will hit that split, give or take, in the FULL marathon in two weeks, with 13.1 miles to go. And in terms of being a great half marathon time? In 2018, 61:40 sorta sucks--yesterday a guy ran 58:41. So no--this race didn't show me anything that says "Yeah! Mo's gonna win London!"
