I had no idea that this song goes back at least 300 years. That goes to show, doesn't it? Humans may be fleeting, but art is immortal. Long live Celtic Woman!
@tonymolloy61657 ай бұрын
The lyrics of the verses of that song go back 10 years. Brendan Graham wrote them for CW. The original song of which only the chorous survives in the CW song goes back to 1972. But the original 1972 song was constructed from verses taken from poems written in the early to mid 18th century. The history and explanation of the song with the original is available as a comment here. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/rMCbZ8d-0KvZoGw.html

Each member of this particular line-up evokes a certain metaphor for me: - Susan: Mother Nature at her gentlest. - Éabha: THE Celtic queen. - Mairéad: The Lady of the Lake. - Tara: The embodiment of the seasons. Terrific.

love this, if i can add something Susan is Spring with the kind gentleness she evokes Tara is Summer with her jovial yet passionate disposition Éabha is Autumn with the cozy warmth of her voice, and Mairéad is Winter with her piercing, icy tone

Ok now that Susan has announced that she is leaving for her baby, I notice a similarity in her performance in tis video similar to one in the last special Lisa Kelly was in. Back then Lisa knew it was her last one so it looked like she gave it even more than her all like 120%, and seeing this it looks like Susan was doing the same like she knew for a while that this was to be her last DVD shoot.

@@daniellovesdisney5730 I have to agree with you. I think the reason why she gave her all in this DVD was most likely because it had been so many years since they last performed in Ireland, let alone filmed a special there (the previous to be filmed in Ireland was Home for Christmas in 2012). Obviously she would have given her all as she was performing in her home country again after such a long time.
