Taken from an exciting new body of work entitled ‘Original Flow’, the singular
musical spirit Joseph Deenmamode aka Mo Kolours releases new single 'Time'.
"I have had some experiences in my life that have made me question the notion we sum
up as ‘time’", says Deenmamode."
They say ‘time flies when you’re having fun’, this is very true for me when I'm making or playing music. Time seems malleable and fluctuating. The linear view we have of the measurement of the phenomena, just never quite felt justified to me. Sleep and travel defy our grasp of the clock, and as I attempt to point out in the song lyrics, time can feel like a trap or a burden. The lucky moments
where I am able to ignore ‘time keeping’ and just ‘live’ always bring me some peace
and satisfaction. I wanted to explore these ideas and bring listeners into the intrigue I
have for the Illusion we call time". ‘Original Flow’ is an album of UK street-soul nouveau, future indigenous jazz fusion, Rasta Segga, Nyahbinghi jazz, Malagasy Hebrew hip hop. While retaining a spirit of exploration and improvisation, it sees Deenmamode grow and flex beyond beat tape
brevity, expanding composition and stretching his musical muscle to play live with
other musicians. Themes of empowerment, overcoming adversity, and mental
liberation coexist with notes from ancient history, futurism, and science, as well as
musings on family and togetherness.
