2 жыл бұрынRunning from the IRS due to back taxes, Baltimore hairdresser and salon owner Peaches (Mo'Nique) reunites with her more successful sister, Angela (Kellita Smith), a fellow stylist, in Los Angeles. Angela is burdened by her sister's financial woes, and Peaches' rival, Marcella (Gina Torres), threaten s to take over the salon back in Baltimore. While Angela helps her sister get back on her feet, Peaches enters a hairstyling competition in hopes of winning a big cash prize and saving her salon.

Nah, not really. It's very dated. The soundtrack is virtually non-stop, Taraji's anti-Adian tropes are cringey, and the acting is so over the top. Not to mention the costumes and make-up. This screams early 2000s.

trust me i loved beauty shop it's a classic black film from my childhood, but this one takes the cake for being so stylish, fun, and exciting. The sub-plots were more exciting, and all the cameo's of black holywood really captures a time period i miss. This was a time where black fashion, music, culture was exclusively it's own....

The very exact same bible that peaches slammed on the table ( I think) and walked out the lawyers office while arguing with Angelle. Watching this in 2022 and I wish it was on tv. Black kids need to understand that there are more ways to be successful than just being a Dr., Engineer or teacher. I just love Mo'nique even more. This woman literally raised me!!!!

Such a gem! I didn't intend to watch the whole thing at this moment, but this movie just sucks you in. This is so nostalgic!!!! Mo'Nique is an Amazingly talented Woman. Actress, Comedian, etc. Love her!!!! Her chemistry with all of the other actors is amazing!!!!

SISTAH ,you are telling the truth . The CHEMISTRY IN THIS FILM WAS 💯💎alway around. So many good points that like a candle light stands out . That's why the chemistry is so on time. Angell , Peaches as sisters showed love as siblings at its best. Watching this movie more then once you really receive true meaning of life in all its format . Thanks for posting. I am Malaysian, I love this movie, I watched it over and over, never got tired. I bought a CD at a night market in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Then I lost the CD. I am glad that it's now uploaded here. Thanks for uploading it. The quality here way better than my lost CD.
