Is there a real difference with the FR40??

Hi we have this fridge. At first it worked great on both 12v and 240v and still does on 240v. 12v though, all we get is an amber light. The batteries are good and only six mth old. 2x 110amh agm yuasa deep cycle batteries with little use and maintained through an expensive solar mppt charger to maximize life so we have no worries about power. Any help would be appreciated.

interesting. I have a dometic cfx40 that just starting failing on 12V....and it's just the same as what you describe. mine worked on 240AC as well as 24VDC...getting it work on 24V confirmed that no connectors etc were broken. I finally got Dometic to contact me, and they mentioned that a few of these now have failed on the 12V supply, and it's due to a faulty power board next to the compressor ie not the PCB, and not the connectors. These units all seem to use the same components...so I'm guessing a similar issue. Try 24VDC ('im sure these units support it...please check first)
