Mobile USB Tethering Greyed Out Solved Fixed Step by Step
This videos is about enabling greyed out usb tethering option from android mobile tethering and hotspot options, also helpful for those who wants to have internet access to their desktop computers without cables which connects between pcs and Routers.
If you are having problem connecting your mobile hotspot to your pc via usb connection and the usb TETHERING option is greyed out then this short video is for you.
I’ve been trying to connect my pc with my mobile hotspot via USB tethering but realised the USB tethering options is greyed out or cannot be turned on even after connecting my cable to pc and mobile.
I searched numerous internet forums and found some tips which helps me solved this problem and hope it will work for you too.
Step 1: Enabling Developer Mode / Options
Developer Options -- Networking Tab -- Tethering Hardware Acceleration -- On Ensure in Default USB configuration -- USB tethering
Step 2: Connect usb cable to both ends and job done.

I did everything and then I went to click USB tethering and my phone wouldn't let me use it as an option it showed all the other options and all the other options worked and I clicked them and the only one that didn't work as the USB tethering options :-( I don't know what to do

I followed everything, did all the steps. But the only button that is still grey is the usb tethering button.... I don't get why it didn't work? Does anybody know?

I get an entitlement process ongoing. I've tried all your suggestions and have reset the network in the settings. It fails and i get another message saying theres a temporary issue affecting my phone providers hotspot. I've found a work around and can use a 3rd party hotspot tethering app but I'd like to go back to my hotspot working how it used to

Any advice here for people that don't even have usb tethering option in developer options? I have charging, transferring images, midi, system update and transferring files/andriod auto, but not usb tethering.

Nice steps - only partially - but they have not resolved the problem... The USB tethering was working in the morning... but I have reset the phone - and after the reset the tethering is greyed out... Any ideas?
