My grandfather always told me a story of a Perdue heirs child that killed someone by a vehicle while drunk many years ago. Everytime we passed a spot near Delaware he said thsts where that Perdue killed that person and got away with it. He claimed he was there during the accident to assist and when the police showed up there was no questions asked. Probably just another shark attack on the record

Holyshit! There is a whole article called Frank Perdue in fast lane. Published in the 80s. It even speaks of police corruption not properly documented scenes. Even an accident where he killed someone. My grandfather lived in Pennsylvania and had a home in rehobeth beach he would frequently travel to on weekends. We hear things as children and to us it's just a story. Since you're up in that are seems like a good thing to look back on and see what you uncover

@@melissagualco6623 she never had kids. The estate in NJ, as well as RI and one in Hawai'i (Shangri-La on the island of Oah'u) are under the control of the Duke Foundation. The NJ farm is beautiful... her father took flat farmland and created hills, ponds, and waterfalls to look like his native NC (Duke University, anyone?). The foundation works with the Rutgers co-operative extension on various plant and animal studies. The old gardens / greenhouse are no longer there and the house she lived in is no longer there (she didn't want the main house opened to the public and it had fallen into disrepair) which is sad, but you can do biking and hiking on the grounds and there are many different events held during the year. There are also Bald Eagles that nest there. You can watch them on the eagle cam. I used to live down the road, have visited many times.

Thank you for sharing this! My grandmother was Eduardo Tirella's first cousin. I remember hearing this story from my grandparents growing up. I only found out the full story and the names and those involved. I actually went to Rough Point last weekend to see the scene of the crime and was very disappointed that there was no acknowledgement of the incident. Not only that but the nauseating over-glorification of Doris Duke was disgusting.

I appreciate your videos. I've learned new to me stories like this one. And as you said, I look the rest up if I'm interested. Have you ever looked into the case of Carl Tanzler and Elena "Helen" Milagro de Hoyos?

Now that is one crazy case! And it revolts me to know that he was never prosecuted AND was awarded the privilege of US citizenship ten years after the corpse was discovered in his bed. RIP Elena 😥
