If I didnt remove the battery and installed the digitizer with the ipad still on, did I kill the new digitizer or did i screw up components on the board where the digitizer connects. I got imparient and could seem to remove the battery on a 9th gen ipad, so I said screw it and moved forward. Seems to have been a mistake, I just don't know how costly of a mistake yet? No smoke appeared, LCD works, home button works, volume and power buttons work, just no touch screen. I was worried about breaking something on the battery connector because i couldnt get it detached (yes I removed the screw) or even place something in between to cut power. I moved forward with the iPad on and with the battery connected. how bad did i screw up? I have another digitizer on the way.

Well this seems easy to repair but suction tool don't work on cracked Glass.

Well this is only good when you need to replace the LCD but most of them are super cracked so no heat needed just pry. My time is 45 minutes to replace a digitizer when no heat needed.

I still use heat on cracked ones. Makes it come apart so much better and I can do them in about 25 to 30 minutes. Use heat!

@@tcp2010 there’s no way 25 minutes, you going to need to post a video. Say no to heat!

I like to use the iPad back because once the bottom heats up it retains heat and distribute it through out the iPad try it works magic for me. Suction cup wont work on shattered glass even if you try to tape over it the force will left a chunk and makes worse to work with shattered glass. USE GLOVES its the best solution for not making the screen dirty and leaving your sweaty finger prints all over the device yikes! lols

I know a lot of people say it's not necessary but I do recommend wearing some sort of gloves. There's nothing worse than crap falling off your fingers and landing on the LCD and then trying to clean it and smudging it into the LCD. I see it happen a lot with beginners. Also if your hand slips same thing that tight nitrile glove will hopefully reduce the chance of smudging on the LCD
