There's probably a reason why most reviewers are a but upset with what the Pixel 8a has to offer at the price point it comes at. This is the video that helps you understand that.

Is Pixel 8a better than Pixel 8?
In no way is the Pixel 8a better than Pixel 8 except the form factor which is more comfortable because it's smaller in size and offers a better grip. In all other ways, including value for money, the Pixel 8 is better than pixel 8a.
Is Pixel 8a a good phone for it's price?
No. In the US, the Pixel 8a is for $499 while the Pixel 8 is only $50 more expensive, at $549 which makes a lot more sense as it offers a lot more for just $50 more.
In India, however, there are many other smartphones at the same price or even at lesser price offering higher performance which could be great options. Phones such as iQOO 12 and OnePlus 12R are much better phones to consider. The only edge Google Pixel 8a has above them is a better upgrade cycle for 7 years which I find meaningless as most people don't use their phones for more than 4-5 years.

pixel 4a was a good device no heating issue , good snapdragon processor, nice battery. But the current pixel have lot of issues and i am not so sure about using them as long term device unless you plan on using it for small daily tasks like calling, social media and occasional photography.

"Why is Everyone Hating the Pixel 8a" while every youtubeur either recommend the 8a aside from the mkbhd copycats that will recommend the 8 instead wich is the same thing. No youtuber that are paid by google will risk to criticize google phones, why would they? Imagine living in a country that reach 50° C daily but recommending a phone that is sensitive to heat and cost 10 times the average salary, because it's too risky otherwise for your job.

also I'll add that speakers are supposed to produce treble that's the entire point of a speaker is to increase the volume. You may other phones are brighter but this one hits 1500 nuts in auto with a lighter meater. That's one of the brightest smartphone screens out so no idea what you are talking about.

most people buy phones on contract so that point is invalid. The pixel 8a is much cheaper than the 8 on contract. You can say the OnePlus 12r is a better deal but when it gets that green line down the screen and u need help see what happens when you need help from OnePlus

Google needs to increase the size of A series upto 6.5-6.7 inch, increase battery to min.5000mah & adopt Snapdragon 7 series processors. (Even Samsung is using SD processor in mid rangers). Increasing the size can also help in heat dissipation. Indian market doesn't want smaller sized phones.

I've held both the Pixel 8 and 8a and if I was buying one it would be the 8a. The 8 might be made of more premium materials but the 8a feels more premium. Plus matte back just looks better. And I don't care about bezels, because that's a silly obsession 🤷‍♂️

Being a Pixel user for long (Pixel 2 to 7a) , I would suggest please don't buy this phone now... 1. The phone stops using flash or long videos saying it is hot. I mean even on normal day it gets hot just after few photos 2. controversial opinion but being user of Pixel since 8 years.... I would say that camera advantage is no more there. It was there when Pixel 2 was there but over the years the camera performance is average and really don't understand why reviewers continue to go ga ga over it. 3. The bezels are ugly 4. The sound quality and screen quality is not good - you will never enjoy watching movie or listening songs on Pixel. Period. 5. Finally, god forbid.... something goes wrong... even minor thing.....The after sales service is non existent.... anything goes bad...they will com and collect you phone...don't offer u a phone in return....and then will take 10-20 days to correct it and that too at ludicrous price FINALLY, PRICE IS INSANE and not worth it.
