A quick review of some of the features we find useful on the Mobius Mini V2 camera. We've been using the old 808 #16 camera for a few years and with Josh's recommendation we finally decided to get one of the Mobius Mini V2 camera's. It's size and feature set make it particularly useful for rocketry related projects.
Configuration software for the rocket can be found here:

Hi Derek, the software says it can support the 808 #16, but I am not sure what specific version of the firmware that may be, I haven't tried it with the 808 camera. I just don't want to brick it.

For my Hawk-V (rocket I'll attempt to land vertically), I've chosen a T189 Full HD 1080P that costs just $13.91 (US Dollars). Stripping the case, the camera weighs just 10.5 grams. The other advantage this camera offers is its own placement. In fact, the T189 has a length that matches the diameter of my rocket. Slotting the camera in (horizontally), just the lens and the button to switch it on/off pop-out. The USB port is accessible from the other side of the fuselage. I believe this product is great for model rocketry. The link is in the description of my video.

That's an interesting form factor for a camera. Seems like an easy fit inside a rocket. The price is good too.
@RCLoversan

@@AirCommandRockets Yes, the T189 is very thin (once you've removed the case). I would say the only downside of this camera is that, if you want to access the mini SD card (once you have slotted the camera inside the rocket), it's a bit "tricky". Anyway, I've easily sorted this problem out, just cutting a small square in the fuselage to have direct access to the micro USB connector.

We are going full speed with it at the moment. We are hoping to get it all finished for a launch attempt later this year. I will have the next video ready by next week that shows the completion of the launcher. Then it's only a few 10,000 more things left to do and then we'll be ready to go. :) One thing that has surprised me how much more complex this whole thing is turning out to be when dealing with the high pressures and forces on everything.

👍👍👍 I am looking for camera to mount onto a small rc foam plane and your video is very useful. I am milited by the weight because it impact a lot the CG of my small foam plane. I also want to build a water rocker glider but i do not have any experience on rocket and i do not have any 3D printer to print custom parts. Do you have any video on your channel or perhaps in other channel to help me to learn how to do it? Thanks

Nice video! This camera looks compact and easy to use. The fact that it starts recording once it gets power makes it convenient as there are many other things that require your attention when launching rockets.

Hello I am A New subscriber ( new-bee).. here .and I am trying to learn ...lol.. ,and I have some questions for you or anyone who has more experience than I do,..... Is it possible to combine Water rockets with Radio Controlled Skydiver..? how much thrust do these rockets have to lift about 2 to 3 pounds of extra weight besides the water weight..? The skydiver is about 15inches tall ( Is this do able ).. I want to use this as a way to launch my skydiver about 4 to 5 hundred feet or so before it gets released , Because of the FAA ( Upcoming) ruling of Radio controlled planes here in the states that will drive the airplane flyers away you have to register your plane and pay a fee for every plane you fly, and buy a transponder in the plane so they know where you are..! ,I don't know all of the facts yet so this is why I am trying to seek out another way to launch my diver ...Do you think that this will work....?.. I cant figure out all the ins and outs of this " Project" yet and that is why I am asking you ..what would it take to launch this ..? and Has anyone ever tried to use a " water cooler Bottle " as the main lifting tank ,haven got a clue as to what kind of pressure that might need to work , I am open to suggestions !..thanks ( this is A real question )...
@AirCommandRockets
@AirCommandRockets 4 жыл бұрын
Hi, this would certainly be in the realms of a water rocket. Though to lift a 2-3 pounds to around 400 feet would take a little doing, and you would most likely need a reinforced rocket to hold around 200psi. It certainly isn't a trivial undertaking though. Here is the kind of rocket I am thinking about that could launch that kind of payload to that altitude: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/lZ-IY7qjtbjYdqc.html In the video it flies up to around 700 feet, but with the heavier payload it would fly lower.
