I drank a lot while trying to fight my own demons in my 20s. Perhaps this is an uncommon example but alcohol allowed me to clear my head of silly worries and noise and, in my drunkenness, envision a clear view of what I wanted and what life could be. I then worked towards those things and life is much better now. I no longer require alcohol to think clearly these days. Cheers!

Alcohol is worse than many of the illegal drugs... it's hilarious how people try to differentiate it from "drugs", as if it's somehow excluded from that category. Alcohol makes people violent, aggressive, depressed, suicidal... it destroys and ends lives on a daily basis. And yet, I still drink every single day... fucking demonic shit it is.

Strange how we all believe that to drink in moderation is normal, and it's a problem if you let it get out of control. But we don't think this about other drugs like heroin and cocaine. Would we say to a heroin addict "your problem is you take too much heroin, you need to learn to take heroin in moderation"?

@MechaSixVII There's no objective standard for "good music". If you enjoy a certain kind of music, then that music is good. If others enjoy dubstep or pop, then those kinds of music are good for them. Music can be repetitive or monotonous in an objective sense, but that's how some people choose to define good music (perhaps not explicitly). Logic is not a very big component of appreciating music.

I never said that dubstep is the largest, that would be silly, and I do not think dubstep will ever be one of the largest, I doubt it'll even be as massively popular in five years. But that is different than my point. My point is, just because something is popular does not mean something is good. LERN2LOGIC

Well it's to escape the pain of reality or your own inner feelings, and if you can't cope with reality or your own feelings as an adult for more than a few hours or days at a time, that's an issue. Plus drugs including alcohol have chemically addictive properties which is why the common case is if you have more than two you just might end up drinking ten or more, because after a drink or two if you don't stop yourself your judgment disappears.
@christinash2235
@christinash2235 5 жыл бұрын
@@cactus00001 actually yes some addicts or alcoholics are narcissists, but many just have anxiety, depression, low self esteem, or unresolved trauma. Personally for me when I began to drink too much it certainly wasn't to be cool, I was well beyond that, a grown woman who legitimately enjoyed wine the way someone else might like pie or ice cream too much. In fact I increasingly preferred to drink alone, in my own little world. That's why substance abuse may serve as an illusory "friend" or replacement for intimacy when people have social anxiety or depression or past relationship trauma. There is nothing cool about peeing on the street or spending one's laundry quarters on cheap table reds.
