I agree that Lego 42009 is a good looking set, but imagine if the real Lego came out with this model? Granted, it would cost a fortune, but the quality difference would be phenomenal.

It would then be built with half the parts, half of the motors, and a completely useless mix of every collor available and still cost 500 bucks at least. Oh and stickers. About a square meter of them

what will make you beat up the wall more than reeve a 20 sheeve block? Putting together a MOC 1750 ;)

I have a horrible feeling the model will not be able to lift the boom assembly under its own power given how incredibly flexible it already shows to be and how much gears slip. If it can't even handle outriggers, how is it going to handle the rest. It makes a horrid sound driving forward too. Hopefully it'll all solidify in the end but the quality of this kit is subpar unfortunately. Should make for a nice display piece but wouldn't hold my breath for the functions.

this is one issue i have with the new modern technic elements, the use of the narrow non studded beams although allows for more complex sets, the rigidity of them is quite poor compared to the older pre 2000 big studded beam sets, my last "old" sets were the Super car 8880 and back hoe 8862, these were as rigid as you could get, recently I got the Chiron and Doms Charger and they are as flexible as soggy bread

I also built his model and I swear the collection between where the motor spins for the supports to come out is written wrong or the motors aren't strong enough

This extremely bad quality is what to get when you buy knock-off lego. Incomplete set, trim parts, no diffs for the axles and couse a driving problem, an overall bad design and poor chassis strength This is just a wast of money in my opinion. There is one form JeroenOtten that is way better but you also pay for that

Agree. LEGO crane is smaller but superior.

Thanks for the comment, but Lego Technic sets sometimes have missing parts and the trimming first required is due to the model designer not the system, and he has changed the design now.
