I agree. The "say what you see" rounds with Hugh and Frankie were some of my favorite moments from the entire show.

And with Gary Delaney, we have a new one-liner comic that isn't Milton Jones or Stewart Francis every fecking week. "Yuri Geller - surprisingly hard to stab" had me in fits of giggles.

Wow just realised some people here don't like Hugh Dennis, he's extremely witty and brilliant with puns. He has a different kind of humour from Frankie or Russell but he's definitely funny.

Hugh Dennis is awesome! Though I don't know if he ever did or still does Standup Comedy like the majority of the individuals in MTW.
@fredh17202 жыл бұрын
He was in a double act with Steve Punt when he was younger, and did improv while at uni. So not stand up as such, though he may have done it at some point, but he does have a similar sort of background.

I know it's redundant, but that's the way Hugh says it whenever he makes that joke. Just trying to stay true to the show. I suppose question 3 could also be, "Are you paying too much for your car insurance?"

British History is part of the US history, as well as the French, Spanish, and just about every other country in the world. I had to learn every royal, prime minister and religious leader of the UK and oh yes, it's come in very handy in everyday life.

The English were a bit late in “discovering” what’s now North America. They can take credit for colonizing it, but quite a few people beat them here. (Native Americans, Vikings, Spanish, etc)

There's an American who just can't lave the whole Magna Carta history thing alone🤣🤣🤣
@valerielevasseur8674 Жыл бұрын
@@thequokkahaslanded321 It's not just an American thing. The idea that the continents needed discovering and especially that Indigenous nations did not have "civilized" governance of multiple types prior to European contact is just plain ignorant and offensive to many peoples of many regions. It might seem benign if you don't know the history, but the doctrine of Terra Nullius was used to justify massive theft of land then creeping genocide, so it's still extremely important to mark the difference.

Having the ability to make anyone your leader does not make us a laughingstock. I view that as a gift. We were smart enough to not elect that man... that's how our system works.
@cyanmanta11 жыл бұрын
I can name every president except a few of the Whigs from the mid-19th century, and I can get at least the first 12 and the last 18 in the correct order. It's the ones in the middle - between Millard Fillmore and Warren Harding - that I get mixed up. Personally, I think the list of monarchs is easier to remember, since they tended to rule longer individually and they had a more repetitive naming scheme (Adams, Harrison, Johnson, Roosevelt, and Bush notwithstanding).

As an American who's traveled overseas (quite a bit) the thing that really tickled me was as I was walking into a pub, looking at the "Established In -" plaque on the wall and noticing how many years before my country was even created that these pubs were open serving people.

American??? Latin America??? South America??? North America??? You mean you are from the states...and you are referring to when the states were created...one would have to guess the creation of the entire planet happened at the same time many trillions of years ago but always subject to change with the advancement of science...cor blimey what the actual feck is the matter with the states??? Five percent of the world population and yet ninety percent of the ignorance... leave it out for fecks sake, the youngest country out of the one hundred ninety eight has shown the rest of the world over and over education is not paramount... gormless gobshite twatwaffles to be sure
