MOD IN PROGRESS: Schindler Touch Sensitive/6400NA Traction Elevators at Rosen Centre, Orlando, FL

The Horror movie thing at the beginning was just an inside joke and me ranting about Florida's stupid elevator and building codes. It has nothing against Schindler or even the hotel, but to the codes. Florida codes must be being this stupid that they are making elevators from the 90's get modded. I've seen 2 already get modded!!! Other elevator from the 90's that's being modded is coming soon. Happy Halloween!!!
Anyways, now for the elevators. I'm pretty upset these are getting modded as the fixtures are VERY RARE. And thanks to NW Indiana Elevators for coming here and notifying me that these are being modded, so I could get some final rides on the Schindler GT Touch Sensitive Elevators. I really hope I can get in touch with the manager and get parts before they reach the dumps. The mod is very nice, being my first Schindler 6400NA system i get to film and ride, plus the European voice and the MAD BS fixtures. While being a nice mod, it's totally unessesary.
So here's a final ride as these elevators are getting "Death By Mod."
Installed: 1995 (Schindler GT/EPCO OIP/WGH 9S Touch Sensitive)
Being Modernized: 2016-2017 (Schindler 6400NA MAD BS)

I have another theory on why these got modernized: to save electricity. Schindler 6400 elevators have a regenerative drive, unlike what was there before the mod. Still sad to see these go 😭 can’t believe it’s been 3 years since the mod Idk, just a thought 🤷‍♂️

i think the old ones were fine i have never been there but wen i go there i will still be happy to be there but i never find any thing old just new or newish because of all codes and ga codes

Wow, that is very unusual that newer elevators from 20-25 years ago are being replaced. What next? Are they going to start modernizing elevators from the 2000's a decade or two from now?

Surely they can't be touch sensitive elevators. Touch sensitive elevators were disapproved by code in the early 1970's. Touch buttons did not meet ADA or current fire codes since then. These elevators are from 1995. Definitely not touch sensitive.

Adam Petersen Um, this isnt made by Otis, it was made by Schindler, and some of the buttons are Touch Sensitive.

Yes, I know they're Schindler. But on the other hand, I think some of the buttons were push buttons as you said, but what makes you think some are touch sensitive is the fact that some of the buttons don't push in that far. Others might push in like about a millimeter or two. I noticed that when you pressed 19. If you take a good look at the fixtures, you'll notice that all of them are the same. So technically, all of them are push buttons. I guess you could call them partially touch sensitive.

Actually, I stand corrected. I watched a video from JimLiElevators about these same elevators before they were modded. He did say some of the buttons were touch buttons.

Floridian Elevators ummm Schindler by Disney store sf is being thyssenkrupp and an oldest Schindler I've seen modernized in a few years perhaps 2017-2018 Dover in Westinghouse elevator is odd what's oddest about thyssenkrupp they've been with kone aka the wonderful world of weird mods and teams!!! Plus I wished sf Marriott marquis will probably have destination dispatch!!!
