I am going to show you the difference between Mod Podge and Jigsaw puzzle glue by Masterpiece.
Overall, I prefer Jigsaw Puzzle Glue because it comes with the applicator tool, and doesn't leave any brush strokes.
Don't hesitate to leave comments, ask questions or give suggestions on some projects you would like to see! Thanks again and please like/subscribe!

Thank you for your helpful demo. I have a few comments that might be helpful for anyone out there who is interested. I had never used mod podge before, but I have used puzzle glue. I decided to try the mod podge this time, and I was very happy with the results. First of all, regarding durability, I found it to be much better. It takes a lot more puzzle glue to get a sturdy finish than mod podge. Secondly, I purchased a styrophome brush to avoid the brush marks. I also got the matte finish mod podge instead of shiny. it did not leave any brush strokes at all! Lastly, I glued the puzzle on my kitchen floor without anything underneath. There was zero damage to the puzzle, and the glue wipes right off the floor. All in all, the mod podge is great!!

I know that if I were to go use Mod Podge, I would have also bought a brush to apply it. I'm glad she mentioned the brush strokes showing up because that tells me to use a different applicator. Some things should just be implied; she doesn't need to spell everything out for you. If it would make you feel better though, I'm sure you could PM her and tell her to make a video of her just saying "you could use a different application method for the Mod Podge in my last video," and it can be a personalized video just for you. Whenever you're feeling agitated that she didn't mention to use the spatula tool, just pull up that video and you'll feel so much better. I promise.

This exactly what i thought and did to remedy the brush stroke issue. Also i like when or if it seeps through because it makes it easier to do the back side as suggested by mod podge. I this easy to separate it from the paper with the same spatula.

i use mod podge for a lot of crafts and for my cousins birthday this year i found a really adorable puzzle and glued it together using mod podge. with mod podge it is a sealer so it is very thin so it does go through the puzzle easier but if you put down a plastic table cloth the damage to the puzzle is so much less. plus to avoid stroke marks and not getting glue on your hands use a sponge brush instead. I hope this helps with mod podge users!

You can apply the mod podge with the spatula and it will be "smooth and shiny". Also use baking paper underneath to prevent the damage. And knowing that mod podge is nothing but white school glue with water and fancy name you can just glue it with the school glue thus going even cheaper.

Now try pulling the puzzles apart. Then you know EXACTLY what’s happening when it comes to how much glue soaks into the puzzle. Also use squeegee on application of both products to be fair on half the puzzle, then on the other half of puzzle use brush on both products. This would net you a real world comparison without bias. Then a person can see if it’s the tool or if it’s the product having better self leveling properties. But what do I know? Obviously nothing otherwise I wouldn’t have watched this video! Lol.

I use a applicator, like the one you used for the puzzle glue, with modge podge and it works the same. No brush strokes it sticks a little but that just like with any glue depends on how much you use.

If you glue just the back, the puzzle might warp because it's not a "protected" shiny coating on the puzzle, it's plain cardboard. A foam brush works with mod podge and wont leave brush strokes either. Often, brush strokes are visible due to the layer of mod podge being a bit thick, or if you brush over an area that has already begun drying and become tacky. That issue is totally fixable. The seepage through is interesting to see. Perhaps because mod podge is a bit more of a liquid consistancy than the jigsaw glue?

Again I have NOT tried it myself so I cannot say for sure if they will produce good results. www.instructables.com/id/Create-Cheap-homemade-Modge-Podge/ By the way there are so many recipes online to make the same product so it will probably have to be a trial and error before you find one you like. First of all,, Mod Podge does have a specific "PUZZLE SAVER" liquid! So why use Regular Mod Podge? Why not use an applicator tool [or Palatte Knife] with the Mod Podge? Had you used the brush on both, they BOTH would have had brush strokes. Why not simply use an applicator tool on them both so there would be an equal balance? OR why not use some kind of an Art Resin to preserve as an alternative. Lastly, why not use a high MIL plastic under the product instead of a paper product? When using a good MIL plastic, nothing will stick to it, and can be reused over and over again.
