This tutorial will show you how to mod the characters' sprites and other graphics in Streets of Rage 4! Modding this game is super fun! This works for the Steam version of the game.
NOTE 2023/01/09 - It's been more than a year since I posted the tutorial and it hasn't aged well. I feel that the tutorial doesn't go deep enough into "creating" graphic mods but I hope the basics of the rationale is there. The audio of the mic is scuffed, the video is way longer than I wanted, and so on. I have a lot of complaints about this video lol sorry...

Oh hey that's my Joe Musashi mod! (btw there are also graphics included for the menu and gui elements too) I'm very glad the SOR4Explorer 3.0 update fixed the lines on the left of my sprites

Yes! It's an awesome mod! Thanks so much for putting your heart into it! I wanted to feature the menu and GUI images but I had to trim out a lot in editing :) footage was originally 1.5 hours long hahaha

Thank you for this. It will be my first time ever dealing with mods. As I figured, it would take a lot of work to significantly change all the sprites of a SOR4 character. I have some mod ideas that I'm looking forward to create. I also hope that someday someone will make it possible to modify the game's music. Subscribed!

I think you can just drag and drop your new folder inside like you did the first time :)

Do you know how I can get SOR4 Explorer to work on Steam Deck by any chance? It works fine on my PC.

I suggest you do the SOR4Exploring on your PC and just copy the files over to your Steam Deck: texture*, texture_table* etc I believe SOR4Explorer is only available for Windows so it won't work on the Steam Deck
