I've finally found a MUCH better, easier and faster way of opening the board, RISK FREE and without hurting you. if you have a protractor You can you it and try to put it in the gap and then without taking it off you can spin it to get to the other thingies and easily disassemble the keyboard. I please share as much as you can bc I have never seen anybody saying nothing about this method.

opening up this keyboard is super easy. just have to use the right tool like the plastic auto trim removal tool. popped mine out in a couple of seconds. no broken clips, scratches, or anything.

Best stock sounding keyboard for this layout would be the GMMK Pro, depends on your switch and keycaps also. But it also depends on heavily on your budget, since your looking at this 5075 keyboard from Akko, I would say go for the Feker IK75 Pro, it sounds really good stock and the acoustics are nice. I got both, but if you go with the Akko one, definitely lube the switches. Just don't go for the switches he used in this build, it sounds too quiet IMO. Unless that's the type of keyboard you want to build. I personally love a bit of clack and thock on my builds as it's music to my ears. Hehe

I also have both and I think this and the Feker are sidegrades to each other. Each has different strengths of course. I will be making a comparison video very soon!

Would you be able to use different stabilizers with this keyboard? Also, do you recommend using the stock stabilizers that come with these or would you rather switch to different ones?
@shopeetechreview7466
@shopeetechreview7466 Жыл бұрын
Yes you can order Plate-mounted stabilizers for this on Shopee and other online stores. Durock is a popular 3rd party brand. I have personally not replaced them, I am quite happy with stock tbh. I do plan to holee mod them soon.

Does the Cherry Profile switches have any interference with the PCB?
@shopeetechreview7466
@shopeetechreview7466 Жыл бұрын
No interference, I think Akko switches are designed to not have interference even with the north facing LED + cherry profile keycaps combination

What keyboard do you recommend same layout with akko 5075s without the need of modding it? THANK YOU
@shopeetechreview7466
@shopeetechreview7466 Жыл бұрын
Hello, I would say that the 5075s is perfectly fine as a keyboard without modding. If you just want to put the barebone kit together with switches and keycaps this keeb is still an excellent choice. That being said, there are many options for 75% keebs with a knob (my favorite layout): Around the same price range: Feker IK75 Pro - I have this as well and love it, it's heavier and more solid than the 5075 Slightly more expensive: Keychron V1 - I have the 100% version of this (Keychron K10). Slightly clacky. The stock caps are great, comes with Gateron switches More premium: Akko Mod007v2 or GMMK Pro - No experience with these 2 (yet) but I see a lot of positive reviews The nice thing about the recent explosion in the mechanical keyboard hobby is that we are now spoiled for choice, just go to any online e-commerce website and search! 😊

@@shopeetechreview7466 Thank you for replying. Did you encounter any problem with Feker IK75 pro? Any idea about the Akko pc75b plus?
@shopeetechreview7466
@shopeetechreview7466 Жыл бұрын
@@shinrakusakabe7128 No the Feker was really easy to work with. The only challenge I can think of is if you want to use the polycarbonate plate because then you'd have to replace the steel plate which comes attached to the PCB, but that shouldn't be too hard. I have no experience with the Akko PC75b plus, I think it's a predecessor of the 5075? It doesn't have a replaceable plate and no side lights. I'd go with the 5075b over it.

Hello sir, I have the exact same keyboard (down to this gorgeous dark blue colour) and very similar keycaps to yours (although mine are GMK Stargazer clone cherry profile caps). I must totally agree with you that this keeb is an absolute struggle to work with (validating what you meant when you say the 'S' stands for struggle, lol). (Btw, to open the keeb case, use an old, unused card to pry it open from the sides - I emphasise on "unused" because my keeb tried to fight back by actually snapping my card in half during my second disassembly D: ). Although this keeb can be gorgeous with the right set of keycaps (plus, love that side LED), it is possibly the most frustrating when it comes to modding (particularly if you try modding it more than once, like I had). Repeated disassembling and re-assembling led to some parts of my keeb's case to break. D: The only reason I kept modding it multiple times was because I wasn't happy yet with the typing feel or its sound profile. I've changed switches multiple times (Macha Greens and Rose Reds led to this muted, quiet sound even if you remove both silicone PCB foam and the stock poron switch pad, Lavender Purple tactiles came out as 'crunchy' rather than 'clacky', while Jelly Blacks and Jelly Pinks had obvious interference on certain key rows), I've taken out and inserted back in the silicone PCB foam (if you take out the foam, the switches become a bit loose on the PC plate), and my stock stabs have this awful squashy feel every time I press on the keys (I only found out later on that it was due to the extra PE foam I put between the plate and PCB). Also do be careful when installing switches onto the PC plate - this can be a struggle too as I ended up bending a few pins on some of my switches because they just. Don't. Want. To. Go. In. 😮‍💨 Overall, this is still my most frustrating keeb I had the pleasure of building. :') In terms of whether it's worth buying it? I think it may be worth it for those who just want to try out the hobby (just add switches and keycaps) but don't want to get deep into the modding process, especially if it involves disassembling the keeb. For those who are interested in getting this Akko 5075s barebone kit, do be mindful that cherry profile keycaps (no matter how pretty they are) may have interference if paired with the wrong kind of switches, so perhaps go for a different keycap profile instead, like ASA or XDA.

Nice that there's others having the same experience and struggles as me lol. That said even with the struggle I do really like this keeb and I found the experience to be worth it in the end. Did you do something with the stabilizers? I like the stock stabs on this and I'm planning to holee mod them

haloo, how about OEM profile keycaps? since if is somewhat similar to cherry profile so I ask. Does it works well with this kit? planning using with akko cs silver switch
@fairweather276
@fairweather276 Жыл бұрын
@@shopeetechreview7466 I recently got myself some POM silvers and it had the most suitable sound profile so far (no interference on cherries). However I couldn't use those switches for the stabs (except spacebar) because for whatever reason the keycaps stuck to the stabs and I couldn't press them anymore so I had to change to lavenders. I did relube the stabs but they still resulted in same problem - feeling squashy but now mushy too 😭 - I had to wipe it all off and leave them unlubed. I'm going to try wire wrap modding them to see if there may be improvement (another variant to holee mod).
@fairweather276
@fairweather276 Жыл бұрын
@@ncm0625 OEM profile should be fine and won't produce the interference - they're a rarer find as a custom-made keycap set which is why cherries and xda with a variety of designs are more available online. OEM also happens to be the profile for a lot of prebuilt stock keebs too. From experience, I do find oem produces a more high pitched, clacky sound if you're okay with that due to the thinness of the material. Paired with the cs silvers, I imagine they would have a light typing feel with high pitched sound.

No interference. While the 5075 is a north-facing LED keyboard and this is a Cherry-profile keycap set, I guess the Akko switches are different enough from the original Cherry switches that they can be put together without interference
