In This video, I will be performing some mods on my Monsgeek M7 to see how it sounds with and without the mods. I'll be changing the keycaps and performing the force break and tape mod.

Some thoughts on modding the M7. After trying the force break mod and tape mod on my Monsgeek. The tape mod really made a huge difference, it turned from a clacky sound to a very poppy sound. I didn't feel the force break mod had much of an impact compared to Keychron boards as the case wasn't too pingy to start with. What do you think? Will you try the tape mod on it?

This was a good sound test comparison. Personally though, I much prefer the clacky sound signature on alu boards than the thocky, poppy one. Thocky builds remind me too much of beginner plastic boards. Why spend the money on an alu board? Just get a plastic GMK67 or a GAS67, do the tape and PE mods and you´ll have a very thocky and good board for a lot less money IMO.

Do you prefer no case foam in your alu boards? Might as well do a no foam sound comparison in the next video.

@@Late_Night_Unboxing On my alu boards I do a foam-less build. It would be interesting to see how the M7 sounds without foams. On my plastic boards, I always went with the tape mod (2 layers), PE foam, PCB foam and Polyfill for the bottom case. That gives them a really poppy, marbly sound.
