Model Railway in HO scale of Switzerland

The trains of Switzerland are famous. So it was only a matter of time to build a model railway layout of Switzerland at the world’s largest model train exhibition in Hamburg, Germany. The Swiss layout was opened in 2007 on an exhibition area of over 250 square meters. On the Swiss model railroad layout there are beautiful landscapes an many model trains of the Swiss Federal Railways, which are known as SBB, CFF or FFS. Great to see these trains actually have passengers on board, a lot of modellers do not bother with either passengers or train crew. Very professional!

Having bothered to build all the overhead electrical wiring along the tracks it’s beyond me that all electrical locomotives run with their pantographs lowered?

One of the most bizzare models I've ever seen. Bridge over bridge over bridge, rock with three different railways into it... I like models which looks like more real.

The world of "Toy Trains". And if anyone is dumb enough to think this is some sort of model railway, let me point out, that this tourist attraction does NOT meet the definition of "Model Railway". Which is: An accurate copy of real life practice in miniature". This Disneyland type Toy train set is an automated train set, that doesn't even use accurately scaled track, or real life signalling methods.

I don't understand some of the men who build and run these layouts. They spend a great deal of time and money and effort to simulate a railway featuring electric locomotives. There appears to be a complete catenary system, but when they run their trains, they don't even bother to elevate the pantographs on the locomotives. Not very thoughtful or convincing..
