An excellent video. My railroad has one HO gauge locomotive that runs great through water. Most of the rest of the fleet will stutter and stall, and you can see bubbles and sparks coming from the rail and the wheels, but this locomotive, an HO Lionel GP-9, came with a sealed G.E. can motor, all wheel enclosed geared drive and electrical pickup, a rubber "case" around the diode directional lighting circuit board, and a cast weight to make it heavier, and it walks right through floods. I'm so glad I bought it, brand new in the box, 50 years ago. It cost over 25 dollars, with tax, and that would have bought me an Athearn F7 A unit, super powered with flywheels, an F7 B dummy unit, and two of their streamlined passenger cars. It was a tough choice, but I made the right call. Hello from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. ♡ T.E.N.

I do run the trains through water. Snow, rain, and wind blown dirt make for very realistic weathering on the models. Of interest to GN EMD F7 271, one of my favorite trains is the local passenger train, which is usually headed up by a SP&S "torpedo tube" GP-9, and a GN F-7B. Occasionally a CB&Q F-7A is added to the consist if it is snowing outside. Hello again from the Tracy Mountain Railway in Colorado. ♡ T.E.N.

I remember seeing one of the promotional videos I got when I bought my first LGB trainset. It showed a kid running a Stainz locomotive into a fish tank full of water and then pulling it out, shaking the water off and then putting it right back on the tracks to run right back into the water again. If I can find my VHS tape I'll post it.

How do you keep your model engines working after going through all that torture, and I know they're made of tough material, but making them go through water, setting them on fire, it's madness, it's like Derail Valley, The Computer Game that everyone loves playing. These videos in my mind are an exception and your own unique way to continue Reverent W. Nicely done I have always wanted to do something like World War II where you're carrying soldiers on a train to their destination and the train gets blown up and you have a battle scene going on I have thought about it for a long time but never have a place to do it nor the money to get it started but I've had ideas but like I said I don't have a place to do something like that but I like what you've been doing I was just wondering if there was any way you can make the trains and the cars look more realistic looking but like I said before I like the way you're filming it especially when the camera was on the side of the car

G scale trains are waterproof, so there is nothing to worry about.

@@fireb0xes938 so it still works? But what if the water seeped through the shell and went to the motor. That would then gunk up the brushes and the commutator, which would prevent the motor from spinning.
