I made this video for my class at Columbia College Chicago. It is only intended to get folks started, and does not cover every step in the process. Download my reference images here: tinyurl.com/2p9chm7h

Hey thank you so much! keep up the great work. Im in school for interactive game design with a concentration in modeling and I think your tutorials can certainly help going forward. Great job!

I know it was 2 years ago but I have a issue with remeshing. As you I used the round cube then after scalling, rotating, and moving I applied all transforms. But after merging both objects and remeshing I got some diamonds on the edges rotated by 45* compared to the other quads. Its quite annoying when lines didnt allign and you have these deformed shapes at the edges

Amazing video! I am currently working on a project where I need to model Murray from the Monkey Island series. It's gonna be 3D printed, have a speaker and be able to open and close its mouth when it speaks. But I am absolutely no wiz with sculpting in Blender. This is a great help!

Watched this since I had to make a cartoony skull and modeling wasn't doing it, never sculpted before but this seems fun. Saw it on my recommended, hope you get more views.

Thanks! Screencast keys would be a good addition to your tutorials.

I'll give them another try - I had problems with screencast keys not always picking up what I was doing.

Hey, I followed your tutorial and how a decent result to what my skull looks like. However, when I try to add colors to it, the render end up super dark and it feels like it only applies correct in the eye holes areas. Any tips?

Did you sculpt with a pen or a mouse?
@tmhokanson2 жыл бұрын
A tablet/pen. I find it really hard to sculpt without it, though it is possible.

this is a fantastic tutorial, thanks so much. I can for the life of me figure out how you got the images in for reference.... I've tried images as planes but when I switch to wireframe to sculpt, they go blank... making it next to impossible to follow and sculpt :/ any advice is greatly appreciated!

Is there a reason you prefer to sculpt in wireframe? If you want to see your ref photo behind your geometry, I recommend you pick shaded mode and toggle on X-ray (alt Z).
