Hi everyone! Let me know what you're doing with match photo in SketchUp in the comments below!

The texture editing by setting up the pins - This method is really amazing! Btw, I'm currently using this photo match for virtual staging!

I'm not sure I knew the scale feature worked like that with grabbing the blue line as you show. Thanks Justin

Great tutorial as always. I just wish they could have added the texture editing right there into the Photomatch as an advanced option.

Can you please show match photo modelling for characters and humans ?

Is there a way to move the origin point after the match photo has been started? I can do it by using the modal when I'm just drawing.

Thanks for the video, and awesome tip about Lattice maker! How would you have gone about fixing the perspective of the vertical lines?

Honestly I'd find a better photo with a better perspective

The reason the distortion happened in the actual 3d model, is because the photo was artificially straightened, you know, architectural photos are routinely tweaked so all vertical lines show as verticals. Take a photo of your house and follow this tutorial and you'll see that the perspective and 3d model will match. Now take that photo of your house, and straighten the verticals in photoshop and repeat this tutorial. You'll see that you'll have the same problem. . So yeah, get a better photo, or at least one that has not been altered to make it have perfectly straight verticals.

@@HectorRojas_theOld Exactly. In fact, Sketchup is showing us how vertical lines should look actually in the photo according to the horizontal perspective selected by the red and green bars. Theres no way they could look like we see in the photo. Therefor, it is a good way to detect if a photograph has its perspective modified . So, if we want a perfect match, we just need to add digitally in Photoshop the correct level of vertical perspective that was removed by the photographer.

Can this be used on a picture of Furniture to get the size of a chair for example?

Hi, I just started learning sketch up and have a question though it is unrelated to this video. I have been trying to apply HDRI image but when I render it, the model is afloat in mid-air. What do I do?
@crisschan24633 жыл бұрын
nice tutorials as always i have a question though, is aligning the red (x) axis and green (y) axis vertically (meaning they align their end points perpendicular) can it make the view not three point perspective (but rather a forced two point like in the image?) maybe it could eliminate the weird angles of the model to align properly vertically with the image? or its not possible? thanks as always

does photomatch work on the 2021 version of sketchup?
@nahalnikbe41223 жыл бұрын
You probably won't see it but ... does anybody know why the lines don't show on renders ... like when you have an interior and you have separated the cabinets with lines. On the render it shows like one whole object with no lines.

Hi. Is it possible to hide the imported photo when matching a model to it is done? Sometimes it would be useful to export the model image with and without matched photo.

I'm guessing the reason the angles became "funky" was because the view is not set on _Two-Point Perspective._
@Thesketchupessentials3 жыл бұрын
You can't use two point perspective in match photo mode - it's greyed out
@ChristopherGideon3 жыл бұрын
Actually, I believe SU Photo Match is more geared towards photos with 3-point perspective (3 vanishing points including vertical, sometimes called "perspective distortion"). The photo Justin used here is a 2-point perspective because it has had the perspective distortion corrected and thus is lacking the third (vertical) vanishing point.
