Love this conference. I’m 66 years old with fibromyalgia and osteoarthritis, for a year I have been in horrible pain and complaining about it to my rheumatologist but he keeps let’s do this and let’s do that…, the Ortho took a look at the x rays and told me you have a bone on bone situation and your cartilage is totally gone, we will take care of that. Thank God I complained to my primary and he sent me to an orthopedic surgeon and finally I see something being done. Will have robotic total knee replacement and a pray to God that finally my pain will get better!

Can you be suitable for a knee prosthesis if you have limited knee bend, I have 45 degrees (due to an accident in 1986) and cartilage is non existent. I am 76 years old, still very active.

Did you know that dinosaurs had osteoarthritis too? Yes! Tyrannosaurus bones, Brontosaurus bones, and Stegasaurus bones show arthritis damage! Even Diplodocus bones, show arthritic damage, so it didn't depend on whether or not they were meat eaters or herbivores, they all had it! The poor little things!

Would you advise a double hip replacement if both are equally in need of immediate replacement? Generally, but specifically in someone aged 80.

“Ceramisized metal”...Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) / Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD)?? The color of The piece shown appeared to indicate CrCN or TiAlN...or are they fully oxidized...but colors are deceiving. I did PVD for 20 years for cutting tools and decorative films...always wondering why thise films were not used on metal implant components. Wondering what technique is used to produced the “Ceramisized” (his word) metal. If anyone knows...I’d live to know...as I am considering a knee replacement myself. Thanks!

Hello Doctor - I had my two (2) knees and my right hip replaced. Same Doctor (Dr. Paul Lombardi M.D.) - supposedly a great Surgeon? Well, my left knee (01/2016) is fine, my right hip (01/2019) is fine - BUT MY RIGHT KNEE (04/2019) is a total disaster!! It has now been two years and three months since the right knee was done and it is Swollen DAILY the size of a Watermelon!! The stiffness and swelling is beyond ridiculous! What is wrong? I had another Doc in his group X-ray it in January and they claim everything is structurally fine - I DISAGREE!!! The Pain, Soreness, Stiffness and Swelling is my body telling me something is radically wrong with the right knee. My left knee is fine and is over five years old - The right knee is a MESS and only 2.25 years old. ANY SUGGESTIONS ? Infection maybe? Scar Tissue? Please reply with your recommendations....Thanks!

Hi there. I would suggest getting another opinion even a third and as fast as possible by what you said. This comment may be too late and you have already did something. But if any other person is in this situation my previous suggestion is best. I hope all is better and you are healthy. Stay safe out there. Take care and God bless

I will not surrender to knee replacement. The idea of dr using a saw to cut bone & a drill is too evasive .Unless the dr who doing surgery is a greatest surgeon - maybe .But 99.9% dr do a botch up job where I heard of infection &prosthesis being too big & they had to do surgery

53:30 as apposed to pain sensitization? cute how things are "evidence based prn". how about when a pt is in pain: it's a no brainer? How bout that. You can still double sell the naloxone, im sure the hospital board will be happy w/that. no evidence of metal allergies (except *definitely* cutaneous. but that's only in humans). do you hear yourself? amazing. you know, by the time someone sees you, theyve already pretty much bought the knee by that point. im not saying upselling isnt important - im a crew trainer at McDs - but come on man. Youre dealing w/a lot of rheumatoid pts, but allergy and immune isnt a topic shown to be relevant. save it for the assoc guidelines. & the (largely unrelated) stock brochure. the connections between industry and the professional associations are better established than metal reactions:- i'd maybe believe a comparison like that being born out by the data. If it was released.
