One of the most sweetest Phil-Hailey-Moments. When I watched it for the first time and Phil said: "What ever seems right to you, I trust you." and Hailey responded in the off-cam: "I have a really cool dad." I got wet eyes. Such a sweet family moment. I hope there are real families out there with behavior just like this.

Phil being disappointed that Dillan didn't tell him is the funniest part of this.

Alex deserved so much of love, care & attention from her family. It's sad just bcoz she's smart & mature, everybody ignored her. Including Phil, who's the sweetest & best dad. That's how she became cold & distant. & writers did bad to her too.

Never underestimate the power of a well-timed hug. Everything Phil said in the cut-away was said without words by just stopping and holding Haley. And I'm sure that in that moment the only emotion Haley had was "I love you Daddy." Doesn't matter if you're a crying baby or a confused(often naive) teenager. Sometimes all you need is that well-timed hug to know..."It's okay. I love you, no matter what."

The whole episode I thought they were referring to haley's "abortion." Man I was tearing up with how cool they were with it. Turned out I just misunderstood. It made better sense lol.

Phil is the best dad ever. And the best husband. And the best character on television series ❤️ I wish there are more men like him, pure hearted.

This episode has a really good deleted scene on the dvd. Its the same episode where Gloria finds out Claire regularly goes to the shooting range, and Phil and Claire have a conversation where Claire thinks Phil is talking about the gun shooting while Phil is trying to talk about how Hailey isn't a virgin any more. Claire states that the hardest part to get used to is "the sound", says its safe because "everyone there knows what they are doing", and says that it is a great way to relieve stress. She then suggests that Alex could really benefit from it and walks out of the room to find her, Phil chases after shouting "You stay away from her she has a doll!"
