very recently, my prof told me gradients were outdated, so I'm going to try the modern gradient approach! Thanks for the video!

This afternoon's combination of medicinal amphetamines and recreational cannabis was perfect for appreciating fully how much you've grown as a presenter. I used to watch every single video, starting very early on, for your free design insights. I've been focusing on other areas of development, so I haven't been keeping up. I am so impresssed by your growth as a KZfaqr. You even fore-shadowed the significance of the blue in the grey partition. That really gave it much more impact! Congratulations to you, Gary; for your determination in keeping this all going, and your growth as a result.

A design friend of mine says "stop when the design is literally tasty"
@hazeemfernandez46403 жыл бұрын
Woah that is actually badass to say as a designer.

English is my first language and I do not understand what "literally tastie" means. Would that be like a "yessss!" moment?
@Suplen3 жыл бұрын
@@tuezmoi which language do you speak I can try to translate it for you. Anyways literally means "exactly" and tasty is that is has a great "taste" (like food you like is tasty, because it's texture feels great). So it's more like stop when the design looks like you would almost like to eat it.
@tuezmoi3 жыл бұрын
@@Suplen English is my first language. I think I just hate the word "tasty". Thank you for explaining it. I hope I never design anything "literally tasty". 😂😂😂

great video Gradients are definitely tricky they can make your site look cool and at the same time can make you look like a clown lol I think blue and purple or white and blue are always safe colors to go with another one i like is off black and orange-yellow

The grey is almost completely neutral as it's RGB(231, 234, 238). "Slight" hue of blue is somewhat exaggerated xD

You should have used 2 radial gradient effects for top left corner next to the logo to give a lamp/stage light effect. 1 Blue 1 Purple. I usually think of gradients in terms of lighting. Just get a lot of stage light reference material.

Taking design decisions based on combination of a background that nobody will see (unless the viewers from dribble, behance or your portfolio maybe) and the user viewable area's colors, shades, elements on your actual web page is a bad advice.
@DesignCourse3 жыл бұрын
That's not necessarily true. On a large desktop resolution with a browser that's large enough / maximized, users could see that background.
