I thought it was going to look horrible when he used the sponge technique to the first coat, then as he added the wax it just looked so amazing. I love it.

I stumbled upon your video looking for a series I used to watch called Modern Masters. Thought I'd watch a bit and got interested and watched the whole thing. Really beautiful, thanks for making this. I really like your casual but informative delivery, too.

I am a retired union painter. Zinsser’s primer was always referred to as “Bullseye” because of the logo. Even when it was just red labeled and alcohol based. However, when they came out with a blue labelled water based product, “Bullseye 1-2-3”, the red labelled alcohol base product got designated “B-I-N”. Painters will still call it “Bullseye”. Just remember “Blue” label is the water based one :)

Thanks for sharing. Just wanted to add, you really should switch to daylight temperature LED light bulbs with a high CRI index for greater color accuracy. You also need a second light above where you're working so that we can see the texture where you're working better. Your stuff is great, I just wish I could see it better and more accurately! Thanks

FAB!. I have done a lot of Venetian plaster from Large to small, love it. But my question is: If you are working with a plastered textured wall, the apartment kind of stuff, Do you have to float the whole wall with marmorino, OR will the texture in the marmorino fill in what was the original wall. Also, can you patch out instead of floating the wall, and/or can you patch out the floated wall. Thank you! fab job.

I'm going to attempt this in a butler pantry where drinks are made. Is the polishing wax in addition to the topcoast to prevent stains or is it one or the other?

Is this waterproof/suitable for a wet room? Its such a gorgeous effect! I'm not a room decorator but I am a cake decorator and I reckon the apple cant fall that far....!
@RonaldLayman7 жыл бұрын
Gabriella Haughton-Malik as long as you apply a sealer it is perfectly fine for a wet area. The dealer would be modern master venetian plaster top coat

Hey Ron, I have a stainless steel trowel but it is still leaving black marks in the burnishing phase. I have watched many of your videos and they are so helpful. Do you have any suggestions?
@modernizeuk Жыл бұрын
Try a COME trowel. They have one specifically for this issue

Hi Ron, can this technique be used for countertop and finished with epoxy?
@CabbageTown334 жыл бұрын
Ann Shr probably could. As long as you use an epoxy I use resin over painted furniture tops.

You call it a pearl wax, but when I look at link for it, it’s called pearl top coat. Is the top coat the same as the pearl wax?
@cynthiatice71975 жыл бұрын
I'm questioning it, too. I'm pretty sure he used a pearl wax and NOT the MM pearlized top coat. I need to find it so I can use it on a current project.

ok thanks .. also what is the difference between deep base and regular? can the deep base be used for paler colors as well ? thanks so much :):)
@RonaldLayman7 жыл бұрын
The bases are for Tinting purposes, deep base for darker colors, white or bright white for light and pastels even some mid tones
