Both voices for general shepherd are actually phenomenal. Glenn's bodice gives that sort of military general vibe to him thought. The og actor just gives him a villainous anti hero vibe

Fun fact: Glenn morshower played overlord in the OG modern warfare 2. So he is the only actor that is from original trilogy in the rebooted series.

Roman played Makarov so gently, and that’s the key to the intimidation factor. The villain speaking softly sends chills up your spine. Julian was a bit too “aggressive,” though he had the gentle moments as well. He would raise his voice too often, which disrupts the calm flow that is supposed to be Makarov.

I'm so far not a fan of Makarov in the new one. That scene with Makarov where hes talking with his private army was too much of him compared to the little amount in the original. That and the original Makarov just felt waaaaay more intimidating.

@@Bloodhurl67 Yeah, that was the scene that made me shake my head. Julian is a very talented actor, but that was not the essence of Makarov. Makarov has always been the kind of guy who lives by the philosophy: “Speak softly, and carry a big gun.” Him giving an aggressive pep talk and working troops up into a frenzy contradicts everything about his original character.

Only positive upgrade I would say is the Ghost voice upgrade because Sam Rourkin did such an amazing job bringing so much depth to Ghost. For Price, I would say both are equally amazing. The rest, the OG ones win, specially OG Makarov wins by a landslide.

Ghost in the og was just an upgraded Gaz from cod4, both character had the same function to the story only ghost was more impactful with his mysterious vibe and the cool mask.

The original Makarov sounds like a terrifying presence with quite a few mental problems, enough to cause a third world war. The other guy sounds and looks like a villain of a Fast and Furious movie.

I never really cared about the reboot characters. It didn't feel the same. My favorite is Kevin McKidd, such an underrated actor. Great voice and he was awesome in Dog Soldiers. Also, OG Makarov is still one of the best villains in CoD. I love his voice lines in MW3 MP as the faction Inner Circle. "S Nami bog"... Sends chills!

Love OG Price but Barry is on another level. To be fair he's not just the voice but does all the acting so he has more to work with to embody the character. He's better written as well.

I've been saying it since the reboot, the worst decision they made was changing Price's VA. Absolutely iconic voice, sounded like you would expect a seasoned SAS operator to sound, not hammed up to the nines for the sake of being more action movie-esque. I feel like they did the same with Soap and, to a degree, Ghost as well. Although you can definitely make more of a case for Ghost, being that he is just getting more screen time this time around.

@@SirSillyBumfluff They offered him the role originally but yeah he turned them down because he felt it was time to retire. Cool thing is though he did make a cameo in Modern Warefare as the chopper pilot in one mission dropping off Price and Gaz at the embassy so there's literally a bit of dialogue where the original Price actor is talking to the new Price actor.

new voices just sound so linear to me. The old ones has much more volume and you can tell by the voices how deep the background of the different characters is, especially Shepard for example. That's why I love the old voices of MW3, deeper and much more penetrating.

They aren’t better than their old variants but I would probably say the only two of the new ones that actually really did quite a good job with the voices are the new Price and the new Ghost. The rest are very different, almost more their own characters

I'm feeling a sort of obi-wan kenobi effect with the voice actors with price, bill is always going to be my favorite but barry sloane plays a great younger version of price. Good enough to make it feel like its a natural evolution of the characters voice and bill's the more older veteran version of price.

In my opinion Roman and Julian both did a great job and did a great job. In my opinion, OG Makarov is more mature and more serious, and the new one is younger, but he also tends to change emotions: to be softer in some moments when he communicates with his comrades or more rude. I think it is very stupid to compare them both since both Makarovs turned out very good.

While I was a kid that played MW with my 360, yes many-most... of the voices from OG are better though, through my college career it caused me to become detached from what I remember from my childhood gaming moments. The only things that were branded in my memory was the voices of price, shepherd, ghost, and soap. I don't play these new games bc I'm basically poor from this college stuff but I still watch MK FIRE ICE to "fill in" for me playing the game and I get most of what I want. The new voice actors aren't bad, like shit new ghost sorta erases a little what I remember of OG ghost and rewrites it out to have a more intimidating voice. or one with an edge. I do miss OG soap voice, and I definitely miss Old price but this Voice actor makes a good price. Gaz, idk I think the whole character redesign wasn't bad. This is probably bc I didn't have any attachment to him in the other games but New Gaz is pretty good.

Honestly Samuel Roukin's voice as Simon "Ghost" Riley is more intimidating and badass than Craig Fairbrass's original voice. This is the kind of Ghost in the reboot timeline you do not want to underestimate and mess with.

That's the thing about ghost though. The new one is just a try-hard edgelord. While original ghost, despite hiding his face and doing things other members of the squad would not be willing to do like torture. He was the most compassionate member of the team towards his teammates. He was kind of a break on The Stereotype of the masked character in the team being a silent badass and cold-hearted. Despite wearing a mask and being more than willing to kill whoever he needed to or beat the information out of someone, he was also the most likely to go back for a wounded teammate or risk of life for someone on his Squad. The New writers didn't understand that. Instead they made ghost The Stereotype he was supposed to be the opposite of.

Overlord got promoted to General Shephard. Billy Murray is iconic as Price, but I personally kinda like the new guy a smidge better. Feels less like generic tough guy badass voice to older badass vet grandpa that doesn't need to raise his voice. New Price could be mall santa. Something about that with his look that I like sets him apart from his peers.

Roman Varshavski's feeling reflects evil better, but Yulian's isn't bad either. Billy Murray sounds more serious than Barry but like I said, none of them are bad. I'll use Neil's option this time. Kevin's voice wasn't used that much because Soap didn't speak in the old COD. I think Craig Fairbrass is perfect for voicing Gaz. Samuel Roukin is literally living as a Ghost, Brian Bloom portrayed Yuri better. I'm neutral on Shephard because they're both on equal footing in my eyes.

The actors of the OG Trilogy are irreplaceable. They have the best voice lines, acting. Even the most emotional history. Billy Murray, Kevin McKidd, Craig Fairbrass and Lance Henriksen are the best!

I wish the Modern Warfare reboot had the same emotional story as the original and did it with the new actors, I feel like the knew actors really give their all in their performances and I wish they could put those performances with the original MW’s story.

I personally think the only improvement was Ghost. I love Craig, especially as Gaz. But Samuel’s Ghost just had better writing and got more fleshed out. Because of that, Samuel’s Ghost was much more interesting and a force to be reckoned with.
