ModernDayTech I like that there’s no monthly fee as well as the price point. For someone just starting out trying to find the most bang for her buck as well as having enough features. This seems like a great starter camera. I also really like that it has a two way microphone. So I am able to speak to people in my home while I am away

You can setup guest accounts so another person can log on and see the camera, but won't be able to change the settings. I hope that helps.

Yes, that's how I have mine setup. It works cause it's a pixel-based motion sensor, not an infrared motion sensor. I'm working on a comparison video vs the Aqara G2H. Which is also a great HomeKit camera. Thanks. That’s what I thought. There’s a huge difference between wired and wireless cameras. Wireless are easy to setup but very limited to conserve as much battery power as they can get. PIR motion sensors have so many flaws. Thanks again. Your videos are very helpful!!!

What about IR lighting at night?? I guess the window would reflect the light back into the camera lens.

Yes, you have to turn off the IR and status lights. They do reflect back into the camera lens. The cameras I have facing the front see at night from the lights I have on outside every night. The side and back cameras can not see at night but that's a trade off I accepted cause I don't want to run wires. I started getting into wireless outdoor cameras recently but dealing with small clips that miss a lot footage and battery charging is a huge hassle. You have to weigh the options that's best for you.

@@ModernDayTech Is there a way of turning off the IR and status lights but by using an EXTERNAL IR illuminator, still get good night vision? I know you`re more about making things simple ( which is BRILLIANT! ) but thinking I can use an IR illuminator so I can light up a decent area and not have neighbours complaining about intrusive lights - people in the UK LOVE to complain :)

Hi Shaun. Yes, it's HK supported natively now and it works great with HK & HSV. As far a putting it outside, I have heard that people are starting to test it under their eves and also with camera shades/domes (amzn.to/2POPxrB) and it seems to be ok. I think it's still to early to know though if its going to have damage long term outside since it's a brand new product but for $40 bucks, its totally worth trying outside.

@@ModernDayTech I am calling in all my friends to utilize the coupon code to get me 5 cameras to replace my Arlo Pro system. Arlo works with HomeKit, but it is laggy and issue laden at times. I am hoping something with secure video and no hub will react better...and for $29/camera can't beat it.

Through your videos and Shane Whatley I am going gang-busters on HomeKit automation. I have all the hardware in place, just working through all the short-cuts and automation. Without your videos, it would not be possible. I think I am up to 85 registered HK devices.

@@shaunroberts1062 Yeah if you can get them on sale, that makes it even sweeter. I never fully tried Arlo but I can imagine they have the same HK issues that Eufy has with their wireless HK cameras. Simply because of the base and the nature of it.

Yes, it records to your SD card and you can still get notification and access the footage remotely from your phone.

This records 24/7 to an SD card so don’t need the motion to trigger recordings. But yea motion will trigger notifcations if you want to be notified of motion but it depend on how far away from the mice the camera is. It does have infrared night vision so it can see the mice but you’ll have to play around with the distance.

Yes, there is a web portal. You can see your cameras but it will only allow one live feed to play at a time. You can also see your recorded events in the cloud. There are a lot of factors in responds time but I can tell you on my iPhone XR on wifi, its less than 1 second from the time I click on a notification to seeing feed. On LTE, it's about 2-4 seconds.

These Indoor Cams do not require the HomeBase2. They connect directly to your WiFi. Yes, In the Eufy app you can share the camera and both people can access the feed simultaneously. In HomeKit though, only one person at a time can access the feed.

I have a eufy battery video doorbell, a handfull of their battery cameras, a homebase 1, homebase 2 and an indoor ptz cam. I was going to go all-in on their ecosystem but after using the products for a while that is no longer likely to happen. This is probably the most buggy unreliable overpriced under-performing line of “security" products available. I could sit here all day and give you an itemized list of reasons, but just take my word for it and buy something else. At the very least spend a few days reading the endless complaints from users on the eufy forums and know that most every claim eufy security makes in their sales literature is a misrepresentation and should be taken with a grain of salt. To give you an idea of what I mean... Despite them selling us on the system having local storage and not relying on the cloud the entire security ecosystem is run through their servers. When their servers go down (and they do) you’re unable to access any of your footage even if you’re on the same lan as the cameras. If they go under or pull the plug you have a lot of expensive paperweights. Also... Their claimed runtime between recharges is basically a bold faced lie if you actually plan to use the products. Motion detection is a.d.d.. Activity and ignore zones are largely broken. No 2fa unless you’re in Canada or Germany (and good luck buying the security lineup in Canada). Says it supports up to 16 cams but pukes and dies when much more than 1 thing is happening at a time with only 4 connected. (And will lose recorded events as a result) Scheduling and geofencing are basically broken. It constantly misses obvious events but is forever notifying of things it shouldn’t. It detects cats as humans. It detects people as pets (ok, kind of hilarious when the indoor cam thinks my wife is the cat and the camera plays a recording that says “Who’s a good kitty?” but still.) Did I mention that even while ‘turned off” in the Eufy security app their indoor cameras are constantly communicating with a variety of servers on a minute by minute basis. Not just for dns and firmware checks either... Circle shows them as IP’s for steam, facetime, minecraft, etc. No idea what it’s doing but it probably shouldn't be doing it when off. (I put it on a smart plug and power it down when I'm home) ...I’m just getting warmed up. I could go on Look elsewhere. Seriously. At least until they do a 180 and get their shit together, which by the look of things won't be happening any time soon. Just a heads up.

Yes, streaming is free. When you get a notification, you'll go to real time which you won't see what triggered it.

Yes, I've been doing it for years. Both with Nest cams and Wyze cams and now with all the other HomeKit cams I've been featuring on this channel. Of course, it works better without a screen and you lose the night vision. My house is lite up at night so it works for me. It's not perfect but its much cheaper than outdoor cameras and dealing with running wires or changing batteries. Stay tuned though, I do have outdoor rated cameras coming to the channel soon but they are $$$$.

It's more about the app. I tested both on the iPhone Eufy app and the HK app and both stayed on until I turned off the app. It could be different on android or if you have different iphone settings.

One is battery operated and one is hardwired. This one is designed to be indoor only and the eufy 2 are water resistant for the outdoors. The Eufy 2 cameras stay off until it senses motion to save battery life. (motion sensor is still on though, of course)

My husband lives outside usa.. Can he use this camera from his home to see us in usa? Can he use camera if we send a picture of the bercode to him? can he scan it from picture?

The app has a sharing feature. All you need to do is register his email inside your app after you setup the camera and then he will be able to login under his own email and see the camera anywhere there is internet access.

Two different things. Yes the camera can record to the SD card without WiFi. (BTW: viewing the SD requires the app and internet connection) Live view needs some type of connection, (proubally internet connection too) so WiFi is the only way to connect to the camera but you can turn your phone into a WiFi hotspot (hotspot service required) and in theory it should work. Doubt that’s what’s you’re looking for though.

I observed that if someone comes into the room and unplugged the camera I got nothing on my phone recorded. The only way is the Cloud ?

I’m not quite sure what’s your asking. The camera does have option to record to an SD card or a local NAS drive.

@@ModernDayTech that if the camera is taken away , stolen, I got no record of the event on my phone. I can't store on my mobile or eufy app any video without being connected to the camera.

Yes, you can share out access to your camera. They will have to download the app and login with the email address you shared it with. I'm not sure if you can both do it at the same time though. You might have to wait for one person to stop watching

Nobody is talking about what you can even view 2k videos on. Most smartphones and tablets cannot ever do 2k.

Because it’s a moot point, you can zoom in more with a higher resolution, larger sensor means better low light, and most iPhones / Samsungs even 6 years back were 2560x1440 or higher with Apple focused on ppi density that will benefit from the 2k, even on older iPhones before the 12 with 1200p screens
