Very honored to bring back Mr. Rajiv Malhotra on The Ranveer Show. He is one of the best conversationalists we've had on the podcast. He is a renowned computer scientist, who has spent the last 50 years in the U.S.A., studying & researching topics like AI, Computers, Geo-Politics, & Ancient Indian Scriptures. He is also an Indian-American activist, author, and speaker who raises voices on issues for the nation. His recent book: "Snakes in the Ganga" link: bit.ly/3JOkIjI
We speak about some of the most fascinating topics that I always wanted to bring to the show. From topics like Artificial Intelligence, Indian politics, Geopolitics, & Future Technologies, this one is an extremely intense conversation. Many more episodes to come with this man.
What is the war between China & The USA? Caste differences and social theories in India, Left-Wing Vs. Right-Wing, Modi Government's future challenges. All this and more in this very special episode of The Ranveer Show. Hope you like it :)

@@abhidahiya4007 Brother listen him carefully he clearly said after completing the term as PM Mr. Modi could become President... because we all know PM Modi himself categorically said a person cannot be the PM above 75 years...In 2024 general election his age turns 73 and that could be his last general election as MP...So if he elect as PM he could run the post 2026 after that opposition can point fingers on him on that basis Rajib Malhotra thinks he could do that....But it's a hypothetical situation but could have happen as we know Mr. Modi is a karmayogi and very unpredictable person in general..... And as we all know President of India have no age limit and possibly he could took two terms as President and run the country 10 more years as the head of state!!!

Democracy is fine for those countries who have already developed and are rich. No country in the world has ever been able to become rich under a democracy, neither Japan ( single party won all elections since WW2 ) nor Taiwan ( Kuomintang dictatorship) nor Singapore ( single party dictatorship even today) nor South Korea ( became democracy in the 90s )

No , that flaw exists in democracy too . else we would not have got "Rubber Stamp" as our PM in 2004-2013. Party based system is not good for the nation , there are good leaders in congress, AAP, TMC, SP etc . What our nation needs is for all the leaders to come together under one banner , and not to fight with each other in the name of parties. Let people elect leaders , not parties. Democracy is a stupid system.

Exactly. Some modi fans will argue that there should be autocracy in India which is a horrific idea. The guest is giving the example of corporate where one individual can take all decisions, which rarely happens. Yes Mukesh Ambani will be accountable for many decisions at Reliance, but he has to talk to other major shareholders and seek counsel. One person can't know everything and anything and it would be foolish to assume so, no matter who's at the helm.

Mr. Malhotra is CONTRADICTING himself. He is saying that India should become presidential, so smaller parties won't have power. At the same time, he is explaining how the US is a mess for having followed the presidential system. Smaller parties are precisely the reason why smaller communities/regions have a voice
@idzkk
@idzkk 11 ай бұрын
Every state in india is dominated by 2 parties 3 in few cases imagine if each district has its own authority contrary to Chief minister who has absolute power over every district. It's same with the states. It's important to actually have district authority which get their taxes and rule themselves. While restricting state authority to governor with few policy making powers. And US is more robust nothing will happen to it. The term limit will keep the rogue elements in check. And don't forget deep state they'll make or break countries imagine what they can do to to preserve theirs. So let's say Mr Malhotra is wrong about US not presidential system

Democracies in a place like India with so many religions, languages, and cultures create a system of perpetual stagnation. The current reality of our world is one of rapid change. In order to be adaptive to these changes a country needs to sometimes act fast and be resolute. However, in India, due to size and competing interests, those changes sometimes take years to make and even when the changes take place, they often are too late.

India is really big 1.4 billion people. Having 1 powerful leader for that seems to much. Having multiple more powerful local leaders is better. It’s hard to run country competently if it’s too big. That was how USA was set up they gave the sub national states a lot of power. India is needed as a counter to China and Pakistan hopefully both those states dissolve ie Tibet becomes independent buffer state. Then there will be less fear in India becoming like eu collection of strong states rather then strong central government.

India in the past lost out to invaders when it went through cycles of regional kingdoms without a strong centralised empire. The invaders could easily play one kingdom against the other and bingo. Devolution of power to states (like in the USA, possible because homogenous society) sounds democratic but for me personally is a scary thought, considering our history.

Democracy will work when everyone who is voting is knowledgeable & wise and the leader's love the nation is impeccable and exceptional . In the sense of today's mindless voting allowed by the existing system, we are spinning into mayhem some day. Democracy should evolve from bottom up to choose it's leaders as against party choose leaders and pump money to make them the leader. We should also learn to restrict the scope of people to vote on what can actually understand. Sarve Jana Sukhino Bavantu

Chatrapati and Netaji are history. However Mr Modi is just great enough to clear the cobwebs and many messed up Indians fed with colonial mindsets. Many gave daft idea about freedom and democracy including most in the opposition. Freedom without accountability and responsibility is anarchy.

Actually the managing director of the company is chosen by a sort of democratic purpose, later his decisions are independent same like PM. But only thing matters is here one person one votee, which is not the case in company.
@tusharkarwa2420
@tusharkarwa2420 Жыл бұрын
I disagree with what the speaker says. His argument is correct that no company is run by democracy, however, we cannot directly compare a company with a nation. Simply because the scale and complexity of a nation far exceeds any company. Further, the vision of a company is mostly to make profits. Company's sole motive is not towards security and growth of it's employees. Therefore the comparison itself is inaccurate. Going by his reasoning Britishers were also good as they were educated and more qualified than most Indians. What democracy provides is the power in the hands of people who have to be governed. The people can have a say in selecting who is going to rule or govern them. This provides a balance of power, otherwise the citizens will be left at the mercy of the king.

The current govt is good at executing and fast tracking progress. But they are not that great at policy making which I feel the opposition is good at. The right mix would be a little bit of both.

All newly awakened historians would not be here had earlier leaders thought the same ... What a time has come! People are supporting and running towards dictatorship .... democracy haunts those who cant see all the sections of society getting their rights today .....before moving towards dictatorship just see what is happening in Afghanistan, pakistan, china , russia .... Ranveer you surely has stooped to such a low promotion of a particular party....

Sorry, but a presidential system works (and even then, imperfectly) in a two-party system but would be untenable in a multi-party system like in India, and one especially in which local or state parties are dominant. This is because a President will still require a majority in parliament to pass laws and bills. A presidential system cannot even guarantee that in a two-party system, e.g., what's going on presently in the US, and will usher utter chaos in a multi-party system. A parliamentary system, however imperfect, at least guarantees that the Prime Minister has majority support in parliament, i.e., someone cannot become PM without the support of a majority in parliament.
