PM Modi's Speech in Rajasthan on the campaign trail has erupted into a major political storm. The opposition has accused him of lying after he quoted partially from an old speech by Manmohan Singh to talk of how the Congress believed Muslims should have first right on resources. Referring to the Congress Manifesto, he said the party wants to redistribute wealth and give it to.. "those who have more children.."
The opposition has accused the PM of fear mongering and also of quoting Manmohan Singh inaccurately.
According to the Indian Express, in 2006, PM Singh Singh "We will have to devise innovative plans to ensure that minorities, particularly the Muslim minority, are empowered to share equitably in the fruits of development. They must have the first claim on resources.”
