Oh man, memories. I had a red one too, G reg. Miss my RS Turbo, never fully got to appreciate mine as i bought a bit of a lemon, had to get rid due to rust, the welder man said the shell needing replacing, so i got rid. Wish i would of kept it now and slowly restored it. You live and learn, the motto to this story is always check the car over properly before you buy it otherwise you get shafted. Cheers lads 😀✌🏻❤

Plenty of lemons out there; we’ve seen a few for sure! Everyone has regrets and life takes over many. They sacrifice toys for family and have hard choices to make. This one has a really touching story though which makes it so easy to watch.

Had a look around this beauty today in work. A credit to ya fella, looks amazing and so small compared to modern stuff. Thought it was packing when I saw the brakes, the wheels suit it better than the ones here too. Well jealous 👍🏻

Had a white F Plate XR3i and was my pride and joy back in 1996 - everyone always complimented it, ended up selling it and buying a Peugeot 405 because of a new baby and needed a 4 door. It was the right thing to do, SO SHE SAID! lol

I knew Gus very well along with his brother Craig. Great set of lads and had many a laugh with the pair of them taking the p..s about their fords and it being returned by them both about my Lancia’s. Great tribute to the legend that is Gus👌

Fookin beautiful... Absolutely stunning... I had a 1600CVH RS Turbo Series 2 (several) Fully Forged with Steel Rods / Mahle Low Comp Pistons, Stage 3 Gas Flowed Head (Vulcan Engineering) with Kent Cam, Ported Inlet Manifold, EFI Fiesta Conversion, PACE Intercooler (Mahoosive), Stage 3 T3 Turbo (also laggy T34 for a while, lol), Quaife LSD, mapped by the late AHMED BAYJOO (RIP) which ran around 250bhp... I've had Evos etc but this car gave me the biggest thrill factor ever. This brings back memories... I'd have one again if they weren't so damn expensive... Credit to you and your late friend, this is the bees knees.

It’s fookin epic how the old 8 Valve heads can deal with 300bhp, lol. Someone once said ‘in the know’ that after 25psi the Head loses its flow efficiency... that’s as maybe but Credit where Credit is due, getting 300BHP Genuine is no easy achievement in a 1600CVH (must of been a bloody expensive journey too). Also technology has improved so much in particular I noticed the owner say he is running or close to running stock compression... this was impossible back in the day and boom 💥💥💥 to the engine 💯 guaranteed

Stunning example credit ro the owner We had one in our family f reg radiant red 88 spec... my dad owned it from 91 then my brother then myself would like to have kept hold as my dad wss the 2nd owner but I sold it and bought a sapphire cosworth 2wd. You really can't beat an 80s ford, so much character 👍

Yes BD 🙌🏼, love it, takes me back 20years had E plate red one before the family 🤦‍♂️awesome little car, spend my wages on it every month lol, polly bushed whole car, OZ f1 cup wheels,piper 285t cam,scorpion 4” outward rolled, big inter cooler, 5th injector, turbosystems chip and a meaty t3 stage 3 hybrid turbo , old turbo technology big lag but when it came on boost pulled like a train bouncing of Rev limiter in 5th and needle of the clock, they were the days😢, great content guys, some sierra and escort cossies next guys,🙌🏼🙌🏼

I had the same S2 Turbo, same colour running at 280 BHP, with 47 thousand on the clock. I wish I never got rid. They are incredibly fun cars to own and drive 🙂

Had a g plate 89 had it for 7 years back in the 90s, loved it, moved up from a mk2 fiesta xr2, think it was running around 180bhp magnex exhaust drilled airbox, had it mapped in Blackpool, won a set of spax adjustable in fast car magazine for it, wish I still owned it, put it in for a RS2000 4X4, don't know why I really missed it.

@@BDPerformanceWrexham It was a long time ago but from what I can remember I travelled down from Co, Durham to what looked like a trading estate, I think there were two lads at the time the one that mapped the ecu I am sure wore glasses, he took the car out for a road test then removed the ecu and adjusted something due to pre ignition, test drove the car again till it was right, I do have a couple of stickers somewhere they gave me will have to try and find them, but I had a fun drive home, transformed the car from basically stock.

That's a lovely Rst,👌That Spec on engine🤤Alot of time money n efforts been put into that.Credit to owner n freind.Sorry for his Loss🙏Me cousin rob had intentions of restoring his Rst.But he sadly passed away a wile back now godbless him🙏.He had it all stripped down in garage ready to fully restore it.He even went out n bought a xr3i as a donor car for her.He bought his rst in 90s n had kept her since.This brings back great memorys for me.Have had some good times with him on his rst🚗🧰🔧Great Vid👍

Nice to see he’s kept the cvh, most Chuck a zetec in. I had a 90 spec one running 250bhp years ago and that couldn’t get traction. Bet this is mental. So raspy tho the old cvh when done properly.

Amazing car I used to own one I had a white series 2 H reg it had around 220 hp had many mods including charge cooler very fast car at the time and used to go off the speedo top speed over 140mph I which I never sold it regret it now and there making serious money now

Great video guys.. many hours when in to that engine as I wanted matt to be happy and I’m sure I’ve done that. Very hard to get 300bhp out of a CVH with only 24 psi making it a very reliable engine...

I am going full anorak mode, but I think the spot lamp brackets are upside down as the spots are sitting way too high and look really odd. But the car is absolutely beautiful. Wheels really suit it too.

The spot lights are in the right place, you can't get the brackets wrong as they are handed and can't up side down either ..the has it left the factory.
