tuning a carbureted engine by ear is actually not that difficult if you've had experience or learned to work on cars with carburetors ......you can't tune it with a laptop , therefore it requires skill?....lol

It's how the rear suspension works, if you drop it it cambers inwards at the top, if you jack it up it will start to straighten out and even start to camber the opposite was if you jack it up all the way

I was going to make a comment similar to yours, but you already said it. I was born in the mid 1960's, and growing up in the '70s and 80s there were extremely "hot" bugs and super-beetles literally all over the place. 1600s with trick carburetors and awesome exhaust notes; heck, I used to have a '74 super-beetle that sounded way better than any of these dogs. Bugs used to be the poor man's 911, but these cars are so conservative that I don't even know what to say.

You have a point but the law over here in Belgium makes it impossible to make a road legal car with bigger engines/different engines than stock. Or you have to pay a shitload to get your car homologated, if it's even possible. There are some around rocking 3.2s, I've even seen a Tatra V8 in one but they'll die out completely soon...

You are pointing out something that I had forgetten about old cars. In most American states cars without catalytic converters cannot pass the emissions (smog) test if they have been modified in any way. So even in America you now (mostly) have to leave old cars in their stock condition.@@BramCollier

not sure, but I think it has something to do with the sun and being hot and stuff. kinda like window tint perhaps, before that was a thing. no a/c and all, 50x2. protect yourself and your interior while still being able to see. @@ImHappy2poo There would be more rumble as the exhaust pulses would alternate between the left and right exhaust pipes. And it wouldn’t be automatically louder. That depends on what kind of mufflers are used or maybe even straight pipe.

@@muaythai193 if you were to go for a bigger exhaust, there wouldn’t be any room for a muffler. The only way you really get a rumble out of a boxer engine would be UEL headers, and a decent muffler. There isn’t enough room underneath to enlarge the system.

Swing axles. Not sure why the Super (with IRS) was set up like that though.

You cant really fix the camber on the rear end of vw's. Its the way they are designed. The lower you go. The worse it gets. They have transmission raise kits or raised arms that help, but the camber doesn't ever go away totally .

The VW rear end has only one universal joint on each axle. That's why when lowered the wheels are at an angle. Works for race courses, something you never do for street use. If the rear axles had two U joints the wheel would remain 90 degrees to the pavement when lowered. Maybe this "look" is backed by tire companies?

@@mikeydep89 exactly...the cars already ride like a gokart without lowering it , then they lower it to go from gokart to a ridgid lunchbox feel......handles good but sounds and feels like you're inside the snare drum of a rock drummer.

they're not blinds , they're window louvers....for some reason people like shit in their cars that do nothing but obstruct their view....window louvers were popular before things like high powered audio....and cars had less built in features to help the driver crash....so they had crap like window louvers....
