It's being used both as a cutter and as a alignment. If you think about it this is like a lathe with almost no torque and no rigidity. So I start with scoring my location with a carbide tooth. What is that tooth sinks in It becomes a form tool. It's increasing the workload and the deflection significantly. So I just withdraw it and use a light pass with a hacksaw to quickly remove material at a reduced load because it's a narrow cutter. Then I swing the saw blade back so that the sawtooth is doing a final facing cut as a cleanup. Kind of like a spring pass.

I think you misunderstood. The pins modified do make heavier slugs. MIC wanted that. To make a lighter slug i need a core pin made from scratch. He's helping with that.

@@GunFunZS You said that you were cutting off the tip of the pin to "hopefully make a lighter version of the paradox slug." What you said the in comment makes sense, in the beginning of the video it was confusing.
