I literally just bought that Art Pepper at Ronnie Scott’s box last week! Came out in 2011 - no idea it was a thing until I saw it on Discogs. It sounds AMAZING.

Good stuff...love these roundtable discussions...always love the Jazz talk...reminds me of lingo at a wine tasting...got out my Jazz Bingo card and was able to check most boxes on quotes...."Vocals are not lyrical", "Heard Jazz but never Listened to it", "Very accessible", "More air between instruments", 🤔🤔🤔 Keep up the great work on your channel Steve 👍

I could see the Beatles (over the next three years) doing a ‘65 box, ‘64 box and ‘63 box. The reason is if you follow The Beatles., you know that as we go backwards in the catalog, they spent less and less time in the studio. Therefore there is not as much outtake material to mine from.

Hey Steve! If you can also get ahold of Analog Productions Doors album, people speak VERY highly of that AP series. It would be awesome if you could also include that pressing in with your comparison.

Steve, not sure where to put this so Ill ask the question here as I know you speak to Kevin Gray. There has been speculation that the mastertape for Waltz For Debby is unusable due to Mofi saying they were not able to do Waltz For Debby as a One Step due to tape damage. My question for Kevin Gray: Is the OJC Waltz For Debby cut from the original mastertape all analogue or copytape or digital file? Is the Waltz For Debby tape usuable or damaged and cant be used? Would help put this to rest. Thanks.

From Kevin: Original master tape is fine. That’s what Waltz For Debby was cut from. Also Sunday at VV cut form Original master tape as well.

I think everyone finally realized the packaging doesn’t make any record worth $150 when we see great audiophile records selling for 40-60 that are just as good

@@mazzysmusic I agree with you on that , I am not an audiophile by any means I thought it odd the discussion of Tull all being the same, Beatles are not uniform, round records etc. A great man once said "it's the Music ..."😁

Didn't like Steve Wilson's Aqualung. Also, didn't like the dead, lifeless sound of the vinyl DCC pressing which I traded for a few great albums, one of them being the lovely sounding MFSL Into the Labyrinth.

But the point is: we never hear about rap/hip/hop, we never hear about the great country of the 70s-90s, we don’t get any play on the great AOR rock of the 80s or stuff like the Strokes or the White Stripes. Just more Bill freakin Evans or Eric Dolphin. And yes I can play Autumn Leaves on my guitar any ol time. Just give us a break on the jazz, VC
