@@ThePakistanExperience your responses are extremely childish just like your laughter. Who hasn't destroyed Pakistan? Parties who came on military crutches like Nawaz, Bhutto, Imran parties have all destroyed Pakistan by abrogating constitutions. Isn't violation of constitution the biggest disaster in a country? First time in my life Iv watched a 3 hour long video that wasn’t a Bollywood flick. Thanks Shahzad for inviting NFP. I am one of those people who actually went from a Pak studies fuelled jazbati khah makhah ka Bharam baz Pakistani to a little balanced and sane student of history only because of NFP. I started following him since the good old days of “on the fringe” and he single handedly changed the way I thought about Pakistan, Islam etc. Have always wanted to meet him and this is as close as it can be. Thanks again my friend.

Good one. I have no idea why they are hell bent on proving pti as a cult. Who are blind and deaf and just want to destroy pakistan on whim of imran khan. It some how remind me of mum and pmln. Infact the reason I enjoyed pti was everyone can be critical of ik and be respectful of others at the same time which was a breath of fresh air. Secondly, if you are learning islam from paracha then I guess you should go and learn science from maulana fazlurrehman I am sure he will make you view science in a new light.😂

NFP: Feudalism is dying. Nizam jokhio says otherwise and im more inclined to believe him rather than a jiyala. NFP: PPP were very smart coz they did nothing but connected Sindh to federal power and Karachi. Translation: by providing no governance and giving jobs to PPP favourites in center's debt ridden state owned enterprises (SOE) PPP has played a part in developing Sindh. What a way to turn PPP nepotism,absence of merit and contribution to destroying SOE's into a merit.

Firstly, the term “mahajir” is just a status not a ethnicity. For example, my grandparents migrated from Allahabad, IN to Karachi, PA during the partition. They were real Mahajir in term of migration status but their ethnicity will still stay the same as Punjabi (Naga Jats). Overall, since we were born in Pakistan, that migration status does not apply to us now rather but our ethnicity (identity), nationality (Pakistani), and pity (relationship with Allah SWT).

59:25 for the longest time Karachi’s citizens have been asking for a functional local government. And for the last 15 years PPP has denied them that right, but instead of talking about the 15 year uninterrupted incompetent rule of PPP Ghias Sheikh is making a strawman argument. No one is specifically asking for a province for Karachi. Devolve all the rights to local bodies according to the 18th amendment. Very disingenuous podcast.
@y2raza
@y2raza Жыл бұрын
@@ThePakistanExperience Which people have demanded a separate province? Please provide their names and their statements. If you make an allegation, it must be based on facts. Also, the disingenuous part is where you are ascribing a false demand to the people of Karachi about wanting a separate province. Also, your argument about PPP not having enough time is moot. Since the 18th amendment, PPP has had an uninterrupted 15 years of rule in Sindh, and I do not have to tell anyone anything. The results are there for everyone to see. Compare their rank incompetence to PML’s far better governance in Punjab.

Hello Shehzad, Firstly I would really like to thank you for this interview. I was exposed to NFP this year via his talk at the literature festival, coming from an urdu speaking background and having lived outside Pakistan until I chose to move back 3 years ago I didn’t have much knowledge about the identity and history except the biases taught within our communities and the O,levels Pak studies syllabus. To unlearn and educate myself has been a journey on its own. It would really be amazing if you can address questions I have, your knowledge and understanding of our history is pretty balanced as well. 1) I wasn’t aware of the history NFP has with PPP, do you think there is a bias when it comes to his perception of PPP? 2) Having seen my parents root for Altaf Hussain in the early 90s and now supporting Imran Khan with the same enthusiasm, why hasn’t PPP been able to take on the upper middle class urdu speaking demographic? Imran khan with all his vices seems to be the only option for many because there is no faith in other parties. Are we to say that all the hype around the Zardari sahib and Bhutto family is a propaganda? With the kind of wealth they have, why is there no development in Sindh on a non-government level? Education? Medical? Or are we misinformed? 3) Why did the urdu speaking community feel marginalized? Wasn’t the quota system a reality in the 80s? Was there no discrimination? does it not still exist? Yes IK is problematic but what do the people have? Should we give PPP and PML-N a chance? I am married to a Peracha and there are many myths that I grew up that were broken by being married into Punjabi family. And in your opinion, do you think we are heading towards becoming a failed state?

To me IK was one politician that existed the whole of country as one, and a hope that it can become a nation. But now the Pashtuns are about the only whole people that are behind him in his endeavor. But at the end of the day we are all glued together by a tether ,(army etc)I know Pashtuns are very different culturally and mentally than say Punjabis, Pakistan is not in the future map of the world ,as it’s designed to be broken apart into its natural organic entities.

As a historian it is sad to see that NFP did not track Imran Khan's political trajectory before Oct 30 2011 Jalsa in Lahore. Khan was no longer a one man party at that time and had a massive popular and political base in KPK and FATA because since 2003 he had bashed the America-Army alliance ... and put it in post 9/11 and 80s Afghan Jihad perspective , all on private media, like no other politician during the 2000s . These guys think that since Khan had no support in Karachi or rural Punjab therefore PTI was elevated by ISI Gen Gul, Pasha etc, but Khan and PTI were present on ground in KPK and Tribal areas , hence the 35 seats in 2013 elections and provincial victory in 2013. You think in 2013 people in KP would be stupid enough to vote back ANP , MMA JI, PMLN or PPP. They chose PTI for very specific ground realities and sadly this whole talk is devoid of serious understanding how people rally around a cause. NFPs past affiliation with PPP and the Left has created an inherent bias and in his world view ZAB and/or MNS had their own political identity and were not provided a platform by the Army . But in Imran Khan's case he was a nobody since 1996 and came out of now where in 2011. Nothing could be further from the truth and this podcast regurgitates the same thing over and over again.

But as for the host here, instead of rationally dissecting, analyzing and presenting equally all the candidates, he seems to have a biased superficial view of IK. Very disappointing. You are very much out of touch from reality if you think that all the majority siding with IK is only empty headed emotional people. You show your arrogance. I watch a lot of Indian media as well, and you are very much aligned with their hateful speeches. It is very pathetic. Try to expand your horizon. I would say the same to Muzamil Shah as well. Love his philosophizing but has a blind spot for IK which I have not heard him explain rationally.

NFP is a PPP apologist. A metropolis like Karachi with almost 30 million population whose majority is hostile to the party governing the City and don't want to be governed by them and the government itself is proving by its own actions that it doesn't care about the city. How can you disenfranchise so many people?

Pretty surprising bordering dishonesty that NFP did not mention the quota system in Sindh which has essentially removed urdu speaking people from federal and provincial bureaucracy and govt jobs. Furthermore AH was no match for IK in personality or charisma or ability to speak.

Zia secured the support of the molvis and murshids in Sindh and sought to control the region in parallel. Thousands of people were killed, and those who attempted to intervene faced death, even being denied the right to perform funeral prayers. This led to widespread detest and had a significant negative impact on Pakistan.

When you use provocative language in the title, you essentially shut the door on any dialogue. By saying that IK supporters are part of a cult, you are reducing them to fanatic, unthinking drones. They would not want to listen to what you have to say if the title of the video itself denigrates them. This is how you polarize society.

Was it ethically justified to “اب بڑی دھوم سے اردو کا جنازہ نکلے”۔؟ And living in Sindh what was wrong with teaching Sindhi language in school? And now look at Punjabis willing to give up Bhulley Shah and dozens like him. We have seen Iqbal and Faiz not using their language to use their poetic skills. I empathise with Punjabi middle class.
