Glad you enjoyed it! It was embarrassing that I was pointing at the wrong branch! :) What I couldn’t show was that branch - and the next one too - were totally dead and broke when I did the pull test.

@thegregoutdoors7632 Hmmm…. One of our guys checked the weather app on his phone which said it went to four, but that was not exactly where we were. I have thought about getting one of those thermometers that records the high and low temperatures. Do you like it?

@@JonsDadHikes I have just a basic outdoor thermometer I carry in the winter, maybe not very accurate ? I was in site one solo a few weeks previously and had a low of 9 degrees, it typically gets colder down in the gorge creek side so maybe its been actually colder than I thought.

Bearr bag .small stuff sack put rock exct in tie it to Para cord throw .no need to do all that wrapping .p.s. hope the bears in Mohican dont eat anyone .

That’s exactly right. I will use my kitchen sack as a rock sack. Sometimes all I have is gravel. It would take a lot of rope to tie knots around all the little pebbles. :-)

So if one person is camping at a site no one else can camp there how does this work ??? There seems to be lots of room at site 4 ..????

I agree. There is a lot of room for lots of people at most of the sites! From what I understand, it is first come first serve and everyone else should go home. For many, that could be a couple hour drive. There is probably solid logic behind it. It minimizes the use and abuse of the land. It protects it for the future, maybe. If I am alone, I don’t mind having company. In fact, most times I would welcome it. If I’m camping with the scouts, then I want people to stay away. My first priority is to “protect” the scouts from strangers who may wish them harm. I could make an argument that a maximum number of people would be allowed to sign up for a specific site, but then I wouldn’t be able to take care of the scouts like I want to. I think it would be great if we were allowed to sign up online from home. I’d be willing to pay a small fee as well. Right now, it’s free, but there’s no guarantee.
