And why wouldn't it be possible if it's from a planet like ours? Why bacteria if it's a planet that is a (few) million years older than ours and life forms surpasses our own. Also the conditions on the planet they came/come from is a tad different (darker, hence the big eyes). In terms of evolution i also think that in many years we would gradually loose our small toes and pinky fingers because they are kinda useless 😁 Just thinking out loud though i'm sceptical myself.

⁠​⁠@@kenn_foxx5563Because evolution has infinitely different possibilities for life, the idea that another species from another planet with a completely different set of precursor species would evolve to resemble us, and coincidentally also be the smartest species capable of travel in order to reach us, is frankly naive and idiotic. Even an Earth-Like planet will have life that is exponentially different from our own. People want aliens to look like us because they crave relatability, that’s the same reason many fictional alien species are basically just humans with minor adjustments. It’s just not in any way plausible.

There could be ways of using the same materials that we don’t know about. DNA might not be the only way to store information at a chemical level. It’d be much more surprising if they did have the same biochemistry down to the cellular level

Complex life is expectionally rare. Having planets with conditions that are conducive to life is 1 piece of the puzzle. There thousands of other components that need to line up in the right way at the right time, for the right amount of time to produce complex life.

The issue is this is not the first or the last time someone will claim aliens are real. And nothing happened.
