Welcome to MojoPlays! Today we’re heading to the upside down and looking for some stranger things as we check out the 10 weirdest PS1 games. For this list, we’ll be looking at some of the most experimental and just downright mental titles released on the PlayStation 1 during its lifecycle. We’ll only be focusing on titles released outside of Japan because those oddities deserve a list all their own. Our list includes “Sheep” (2000), “Baldies” (1995), “Nightmare Creatures” (1997), “Skullmonkeys” (1998), “Pandemonium!” (1996) and more! What was the weirdest game you played on Sony’s first console? Fact: Hogs of War was made by Infogrames Sheffield House, which used to be Gremlin Interactive, a studio best known for the games Zool, Actua Soccer and Lotus Espirit Turbo Challenge. The voice work for Hogs of War was done by the late great Rik Mayall.

Hogs of War is amazing! Fun fact: there was a PC version but it was bugged and the AI never moves in that version making it much easier.

Vib Ribbon was so innovative and mind blowing. You could actually remove the game from your console, put a CD of your own and play the songs from there. Most of the songs didn't play well at all but it was cool anyway.

Hogs of War was one of my favorite games when I had the PS1. I was extremely happy when I found it on Steam about a year ago, but then my happiness was crushed when I learned that Hogs of War could not be played with Windows 10 and newer updates

Nightmare Creatures was amazing! Used to play it every day after school as a teen!

My dad still gushes about Pandemonium to this very day. It's an underrated gem, according to him. Gotta try it out someday.

I remember Incredible Crisis mentioned in a PS magazine as one of those games just released in Japan and pretty much having no chance in hell of ever coming over here. Nearly a year and a half later though it made the list as coming soon much to the surprise of everyone. Anyway I never thought much of it until I noticed a copy of it at some flea market New!! Overall I loved the wacky humor but boy those stages were challenging. Anyway I still have it and it is still in great shape.
